Homecoming outfit, homecoming outfit.... Chase wandered around the store trying to find a good tux. Or at the very least a killer jacket and designer pants. So far he'd only checked one rack and already he was disappointed. Either the good ones were mostly gone or the ones he saw weren't in his size. And he really had to show Shyanne up. He just had to think....
Chase couldn't help but occasionally glance behind him or around the store to see if Shyanne followed him in. Nah, that'd be too obvious. Of course she didn't follow him in. Maybe he should try a different store? No, there had to be more in here than he thought. Chase grabbed a couple of outfits and headed into the changing room to try them on. One of the jackets had potential; it was a black and red blazer that he was sure he had the perfect pants to go with it. But maybe red was too much. He took it off and tried on the next tux. Green? What was he thinking? This wasn't St. Patricks Day! Chase shook his head and threw the outfit to the side. He was never gonna find a good outfit this way.
Then something hit him. Was Shyanne gonna be at the dance with a date? Not that he cared completely; just cause she didn't go with Chase didn't mean she couldn't go with anyone else. But there was just one little thing bugging him. Chase didn't have a date to homecoming. He was still getting to know people around the campus. Sure there were plenty of cute girls around. And yeah, he got along with his suitemates well enough - at least he thought he did - so maybe any of them could hook him up with someone. But after that display with Shyanne how would it look for Chase to show up stag? It occurred to Chase that there were only two ways around this. First way - he'd have to flirt with a pretty girl at the mall and pretty much ask her on the spot to the dance. Or way two - he showed up to the dance looking so incredibly awesome that it looked like he was too good to show up with anyone. Chase could think on his feet; if he saw Shay at the dance and she questioned why he wasn't there with anyone he could definitely come up with a believable excuse.
