Chad Richardson entered the gates of Metric Arts Academy with a huge, drawn out sigh. Finally, after a few weeks of partying out in the Bahamas, he was home! Even though his actual ‘home’ was miles away, Metric just seemed to fit the bill. His mom had insisted he come and inform the dean of students that he had come home a few days earlier than anticipated. Chad wanted to relax and just wait, but his mother insisted he get up off his bum and go to school if he could.
He hoped they didn’t have a room open yet. But his mom usually got her way.
It was sunny and a Sunday afternoon. He’d been dropped off on the way back from Church. Chad was wearing a pretty stylish brown, slightly tight shirt and a pair of blue jeans, which was warm enough to be comfortable today. His wallet and phone were in his jean pockets.
He started to whistle to himself as he walked, hooking his thumbs into the back pockets on his jeans. He noticed a few girls, and winked their way. They giggled and left, and it left Chad grinning. He was procrastinating visiting the office, of course. Maybe he’d find someone to talk to out here? He hoped so. He also hoped that he could grab some food at the café later! He was beginning to feel a bit hungry.
He decided to make himself comfortable on one of the benches, and removed his hands from his back pockets, sat down, and then hooked his thumbs in his side pockets. He started to whistle, the sound not bad but certainly not professional.
But it was very loud whistling he was doing. Chad had never been quiet, after all.
