The simple sound of graphite scratching against paper was a relaxing sound to the two as they sat side by side. It was almost as if they were so into their surroundings that were being etched into the paper that they completely forgot to check for others. The gentle tickle of the cool breeze, the small instances of itchiness from the grass seemed to make them a little bit more aware, and then they finally started to socialize with one another, despite being so caught up in their own drawing moments before.
"Rey-Rey, did I do this right?" The younger spoke, a small fourteen year old girl, handing over her sketch book to the Hispanic eighteen year old next to her.
"For the most part, Chica." He responded, shifting even closer to her, gently erasing away her mistake and drawing the line a bit smoother. "You still need to work on solid line work."
"I know, I know. I prefer shading ten times fold, actually." She mused, her attention switching to soak in the surroundings. It was only within her first month of being here, and so much was still just so new to her. "How is your aunt?" She squeaked out, suddenly feeling a hyper burst of energy. Rey softly groaned upon realizing this, but tilted his head slightly, leaning back on his hands.
"Aunt Celia's fine, still caught up in trying to remember how to be a teacher again." The pair softly laughed, though it wasn't entirely too far from the truth.
"I wonder how Charlie's handling? I mean, having the house to himself and all..."
"Probably partying, but feeling guilty about it." Again, they laughed at the mental image, but a sincere, honest silence slipped in as the girl grabbed her notebook back, turning the page, and starting to sketch a few people off in the distance.
"You haven't seen everywhere, huh?"
"You forget, this is my first year too, Isabel."
"Ohhh...right..." Again, she focused on her drawing, while Rey found himself laying on his back, looking up at the bright blue sky.
"Hoy en día es tan cerca de ser perfecta..." (basically 'today is so close to being perfect'.
"Si... Si.." The girl was now barely paying attention, sketching away in a more hurried fashion- Probably trying to finish the major outline before those in the distance moved.
