Family members:
-Father: Emilio Ramon Santos, 50 years old. Although his family wasn’t the richest, they had the things they needed. Emilio was probably considered the head of the household, even though his father was still in his life. His father worked hard at a factory, Emilio was moving from fast food place to fast food place, as was his mother. However, he wound up going to college at age 18, graduating a year earlier than planned. He managed to work two jobs on top of college, and was pretty far from home. On his twentieth birthday, he received rather bad news- Both of his parents were sick, and lingering on the line between life and death. He immediately quit college, and flew home as fast as he could.. But he was too late, as his mother had passed away in her sleep a mere two hours before he arrived. He was able to spend a mere hour with his father, before his father joined his mother. Emilio was in charge of the household again, taking care of his two little sisters. Around his twenty-third birthday, he returned to finish college. He met a woman there, a pretty hispanic lady, that easily captured his heart within a year of dating her. They got married after college, around Emilio’s twenty-sixth birthday. They managed to join the family once more, though his little sisters moved out on their own soon enough. When Emilio was around 28, his wife had some very exciting news- They were going to have a son!
Charles Damian Santos was born, and it was quite the learning journey. About eight years later, Isabel was born. The strain of raising two children challenged her parent’s relationship, and it was very quickly clear that it was on the rocks.
Yet, Emilio did his best to keep the romance going, to keep things level, keep things away from resentment…. Until he found out that his wife was with another man, and pregnant with that man’s child. The divorce papers were signed, but after CPS was called on his ex-wife, he took in the other man’s son, as his father was in jail and none of that family wanted him.
Now days, Emilio is quite a bit stricter, more firm, and less compromising. Yet, he was never truly abusive. He was honest, often too bluntly so, but he never raised a hand to his children, even his adopted one, and never truly cussed them out unless they started it. Emilio tries to be fair and balanced, but has found himself working extra hours as a break from the chaotic household. When Charles moved out, he brought Isbel right along with him. When she heard that Rey, her brother’s boyfriend, was attending Metric, she insisted that she needed to as well. With the help of Celia Estela Rogelio, she will now be facing her first year at Metric.
-Mother: Catalina Ria Santos, 48 years old. Much like her husband, her family wasn’t the richest, nor the poorest. Her family was small, her parents, herself, and her twin brother, and they each came from a hard working background. Her mother had worked her entire life at a small cafe that she ran, but it had been burned down shortly after her death. Catalina’s mother died at a very young age, merely twenty-seven when she was taken away by the grim reaper. Her father had to work extra hours at the factory he worked at, leaving Catalina and her twin brother, Amaranto, to take care of the house. When they both reached seventeen, they got their own jobs in hopes of saving up for college. The bills started piling up, causing the remaining three family members to work even more jobs and hours.
Against the odds, Catalina and Amaranto were able to get into college, although they still had to work longer hours to pay for the intuition and their food and other necessities. While Amaranto dropped out due to now having to take care of a child, Catalina stuck it out. She met a rather kind, warm gentleman named Emilio Ramon Santos. They both fell in love rather quickly, but they waited until after college to get married. After they finished college, they moved in together, his sisters moving out rather quickly after their return. When Emilio had just turned twenty eight, herself twenty six, she was able to give him the brightest, most life changing news- They were now parents to a boy! The boy’s name was Charles Damian Santos, and it was certainly quite the learning journey. They thought they had a solid grip in life, but another surprise happened eight years later- They were now parents to a little girl!
However, the strain of taking care of both kids while working full-time hours started to wear down the relationship. Although Emilio did his best, Catalina had already moved on- Yet she didn’t tell him. He found out the hard way when she got pregnant again, which didn’t line up with their own sex life. After the child was born, it was official that it was not Emilio’s, and that she was no longer loyal to him, so they divorced under rather bitter terms. However, a while later, about three years later, she turned into a drug addict and an alcoholic. After the teachers noticed the bruises, CPS was called. The boy’s father was currently serving a ninety to life year sentence in jail, and none of the other family members wanted to be ‘burdened’ by the boy. Although he was hesitant at first when they came to Emilio’s footsteps, he took the boy in.
Currently, Catalina is trying to wiggle into her children’s lives, including the one that wasn’t Emilio’s, but all three of them are giving her quite the cold shoulder. In fact, Isabel refuses to even be around her… and Charles tends to cuss her out, or quite obvious with his displeasure with her even having the ‘ignorance’ to show up anywhere near him and Isabel.
-Older brother: Charles “Charlie” Damian Santos, 22 years old. Despite being eight years apart, they get along fairly well, especially after all they went through in their pasts, particularly the drama wave with their mother. It’s almost like Charlie, Rey, and Isabel have made their own family of sorts, and it’s mainly due to Rey’s aunt, Celia Estela Rogelio, that Isabel is able to escape the ongoings at the house. She’s now far more focused on her studies, but she’s also looking to find new friends!
Currently, Charlie is a bit caught up with his own work, but both Rey and Isabel talk to him on a daily basis, usually on the phone if nothing else. He’s usually available all the time, but he’s strict that they keep focused on their studies- Even with his own boyfriend. Charlie mainly wants both to achieve something he wasn’t able to- To graduate.
(More may be added at a later date)
-Younger half brother: Aiden Alexander Santos, around 11 years old. Both Isabel and Charles have very little to do with their younger brother, and he tends to avoid them as well. Personality wise, he’s super quiet, timid, and shy, and easily finds himself the target of bullying, and finds it even harder to talk to new people, let alone befriend them. He has heard about Metric and keeps saying he wants to go, only to hear ‘maybe when you’re older’. He sort of resents his older siblings, though it’s in a more childish way- They got to do so many things that he couldn’t!
Important relationships (friends, lovers, enemies, ect):
Brother’s boyfriend/best friend: Rey Celio Rogerio, 18 years old. Despite the on going amusement of her brother’s boyfriend being damn close to her height, especially with the age difference, Rey and Isabel get along very well. Both of them pretty much claim the other as family, Isabel’s usually joking about getting nephews from the two (despite knowing that males can’t get pregnant’. The two can speak fluent Spanish, and will often do so, mainly with Isabel, to tick people off. She is pretty much his best friend, and Charlie is usually used to them both calling him at the same time. Usually, it’s Rey with Isabel’s phone, or visa versa, and putting Charles on speaker phone. Despite the fact they are totally different classes, one will find these two together during the spare times.
