Middle of the day, middle of the week. Didn't mean too much to Miles, except that there were two days still ahead of him until the weekend. He didn't have too rigorous a schedule to maintain, generally played it by ear - though he normally had a workout after work. Today though he was planned on meeting up with some friends instead, so Miles sacrificed his lunch hour and stole away some time in the gym on campus. He had to cut it short for a quick rinse off afterwards, but he could still feel the boost that the exercise had given him as he strolled back to Metric's health wing. He always enjoyed walking the grounds here, the hilly pathways reminded him of a few other school campus' up north that he'd strolled in during his formative years. The faces always changed, but the scenery was something that retained it's first impression for the most part. Pretty neat - it happened like this everywhere.
He had a semi-uneventful day so far as far as consoling went, a couple regulars came by with some stress about their grades and another about a test that they were so sure that they weren't prepared for. That was easy stuff for Miles and now that he was back from getting pumped he wanted a challenge of sorts, something that could really get his gears turning. He veered around the corner and almost tripped over a girl sitting along the wall. Luckily for him his balance was sound and his footing kept steady after hopping over her outstretched legs in pure reflex. "Ooop, apologies- didn't see you there, sorry!" Miles smiled down and gave a mild open palmed gesture attached to his quick words, just as quickly moving at the same brisk pace down the hall and to his office's door.
Miles lingered at the doorway, unlocking it and knowingly passing through without closing it. He always found that an open door was much more welcoming than a closed one, even if the door stated 'Welcome' or something like it. An open door was just one step, while a closed door was two... that should be a saying somewhere, if it wasn't already. Miles rounded his desk and plopped in to his chair, zoning in to the empty seat across the organized surface - smiling just to smile before snapping to and waking his computer up from it's hypnotizing screensaver. Now he was totally ready to start up a new file or continue on a work in progress, whichever came through that door.
