To say Alfie was dreading seeing Ava was an understatement. He never knew what mood she was going to be in, or if she was actually going to be nice to him or not. In some ways, he regretting sleeping with her. She constantly pulled out the 'I was drunk' card and made Alfie feel like such a loser. She knew how to tear him to shreds in a matter of minutes, making his confidence hit rock bottom. But then again, he was completely and utterly obsessed with her. He crushed on her so much that it wasn't even normal. And the days that she was nice to him completely counteracted the days where she was nothing but nasty. She could make him feel like the most special person in the world, almost as if he is the only guy in the world. He struggles to work out what her problem with him actually is; he knows he's a nice guy and he knows that he isn't ugly by any standards.
He honestly doesn't know how to take her sometimes, but he knows that deep down inside of her, there is something amazing. Something that needs pulling out and showing to the rest of the world.
They had agreed to go out for dinner and Alfie was going to drive. They were going out of town to eat, and Alfie couldn't help but wonder if it was so people didn't see them together. But as long as he got to spend time with her, providing she was in a good mood, he didn't mind. He mainly wanted to find out why some days she hated his bones, or if she was ever actually going to be nice to him most of the time.
He had found a little restaurant, just a couple of miles out of town, which was placed directly on the beach. The tables overlooked the ocean, and with the weather being nice outside, he figured it would make the perfect date spot. Hopefully.
He sang along to his playlist in his car, a mixture of cover songs and acoustic, soft songs. He liked soft sounding music, things that weren't too popular or preppy, he hated most chart music and found the majority of it to be overplayed. The closer he got to Ava's house, the more his heart began to pound. He pulled his car over, taking a deep breath. For starters, Ava's house was huge! He already felt sub-par before he had even seen her! He tapped his fingers on his steering wheel, before checking his hair in his mirror. "C'mon Alfie, you can do this. Stop being a wimp." He took another deep breath, before opening his door and stepping around his car. On his passengers seat, he had a box of very expensive roses he had bought for Ava. He figured he might as well try and improve her mood before they even went out. He took them from the seat, before making his way to Ava's porch.
He knocked on the door twice, nervously waiting for the beautiful girl to appear.
