Clint's outfit
The stillness of the condo always weirded Clint out when he came home after an extended time away. It'd only been a couple weeks, but he knew it'd have this quality to it when he finally got back. Without Wyatt here it was just like any other luxurious hotel room. Though yeah, it was a lot more accommodating - and it did have all their stuff in it... but even that fact didn't make up for the lack of life and activity here. After sending Wyatt a silly picture message 'Honey, I'm home' heads up he let out a deep, smiling exhale. He shuffled off his shoes and unpacked his suitcase, immediately thereafter hopping to. It was time to liven things up around the place.
On the return trip home all he was able to think about was what he always daydreamed about after such a period away from Wyatt. He imagined finally getting to see her, and touch her, and cook for her and make her laugh - getting to see her smile and just breathe in everything about her that he'd been missing so much. It made him think about earlier times in their career when they were traveling together, making memories as a team... which he missed greatly. Still. He knew that their time apart was worth all the experiences they were accumulating - after all, he had taken pictures of how many different mountains already? He couldn't even count at this point! Clint knew Wyatt trusted him and he trusted her in turn - and he knew that by the time they both got back home, in to each others arms... it would feel like they weren't just across the world from each other only hours before.
As the aromatic chicken marsala stewed and sizzled in the oven, Clint went the romantic route and lit all of the candles around the house. They'd been Wyatt's touch to the decor and they definitely made the seconds ease by as he waited for that front door to open. 'Any minute,' he told himself as he pushed away the anxiousness - touching up the separate side dishes of green beans and fingerling potatoes here and there upon the stove, fluffing the couch pillows, pacing throughout the condo and shifting things just for the sake of something to do - forcing himself not to sit or do anything that may make the wait any more arduous than it was.
'Any second,' Before he knew it he'd hear that door, and he'd see her and drop everything to take her in his arms and uplift her in a little spin like usual and kiss her as if it were the first time all over again. That's what made the wait so hard, already knowing exactly what he was about to do - but having to pause while the world caught up and brought the love of his life to him again. He knew it was the wait that made all of that sweeter, though, so Clint continued puttering around... glancing every so often at the door and phone on the kitchen counter for good measure.
