Wade had vowed, the moment he found out about Summer's injury, that he would do everything he could to help her out. It was a duty that he felt obligated to carry out, one that he'd expressed to her as he helped her up and down the stairway so many times. He didn't want her to feel bad for him going extra measures to make sure she didn't try anything that might make it worse, though he knew she hated to ask him for assistance so often. He didn't mind at all, he hated to see her struggle. The way he saw it, if he weren't here for her, who out of her roommates would've stepped up? Would they have had the time, or determination, or care enough period? Probably not, so him being around was meant to be, which was something he reminded her when she felt as if she were bothering him.

She was healing okay by now, enough to where she didn't hang on him as heavily as before but she still needed him. He could tell how bummed out she was and that bummed him out too. So, he planned to completely surprise her with an evening on the town - something they could manage that would entertain her enough to maybe get her mind off of not being able to do much by herself for the time being.

As she finished up with her class for the day, Wade looked in to a few places - finding an open mic night at the local bar. He already knew that they let in underage students, just as long as they didn't sneak drinks, so he considered this a pretty decent option... better than going to the movies and trying to maneuver them both in the dark and cramped theater seating. It wasn't enough though, he also wanted to treat them both to dinner - somewhere nice but not so nice that made things awkward when he helped her around the tables. The diner was okay, suited the purpose. He'd considered making something, with all the practice he'd been getting - but no, he really just wanted to take her out. Plus, he'd sort of exhausted his best meals by this point.

He waited anxiously outside of the classroom, skimming through the faces with a prominent grin as Summer emerged last, slowly but surely. Wade couldn't help his smile as it widened the moment she saw him. "Give you a lift, Sunshine?" he greeted her cheerfully with a brief tender kiss, taking his place at her side and bending a bit to let her hook her arm around his shoulders. If his face didn't give away his excitement, the movements of his body did. "Sooo how was your day, get a lot of homework? You tired at all?" Wade asked, trying to hide the excitement behind his words, to no avail.

Summer had never felt more useless in her life. She hadn't ever gone this long without dancing, let alone having to have help doing things. Being independent was one of the main things for Summer - she hated relying on other people for anything - she very much kept herself to herself. And now, she was struggling with that. Having to cope with a broken wrist and a broken ankle was pretty lame. She felt more lame at the fact that the injury happened in class. Sure, she'd broken pretty much every single toe and finger before, but that was just the normal for a dancer. But she knew instantly in class that she had done a more serious injury. She was dancing a pas de deux when the male dancer dropped her in a lift. Being so slim meant she didn't have much to take the force of the floor when she landed. She somehow still managed to finish the last 20 minutes of the class, even though she had heard the snap of a bone, a light cracking sound, followed by the gut-wrenching pain. A few minutes later when the adrenaline kicked in, it didn't feel so bad.

After the class had finished, she hobbled her way along to her bag and waited for everybody else to leave the room. The first person she thought to call was Wade, of course. She needed a hand to get back to her room, so she could keep her foot elevated and iced, along with icing her wrist. What she didn't expect was to be carried along to A+E, despite her best protests. And as much as she hated to admit it, she wouldn't have coped in there by herself. Especially not when they had to prod with her ankle to get the bones straight before the potted it up. Her wrist was pretty simple, but the ankle was very iffy! And out of all of it, the fact she had to have crutches was the worst thing for her. Having a broken wrist and trying to use crutches was near enough impossible! She had kicked off about the wheelchair they had given her, even though Wade made her sit in and pushed her in it until they got back to her house. It was now stored away in the corner of her room and she refused to get back into it.

Three weeks had passed and things were starting to heal as they should. And she didn't need as much help as she had needed in the first week, but Wade was definitely being the best person ever. He had been helping her get around campus, helping her cook, even helping her shower. Which was kind of mortifying for Summer! She would wear swimwear and attempt to wrap the casts with cling-film - it didn't always go so well! But she was coping pretty well otherwise and hadn't missed a day of class so far! Sure, it sucked just having to take notes, but her Dance Theory grades were as high as they could be!

As she slowly made her way out of the classroom, she was greeted by Wade's smiley face. She immediately felt the sense of home wash over her. "Hey Mister. That would be great!" She returned the kiss, giving him a small hug at the same time. She laughed as he began to ask her the list of questions he reeled off. "You sound like my Mom did on my first day at school!" She poked her tongue out at him. "It was an average day. No homework. Not so sleepy, I think I'm used to the meds!" She grinned as she answered all of his questions. She hobbled slowly along the corridor with him. "How was your day? I heard there was a party tonight.. Does that mean you're otherwise occupied for the evening?" She hated that he felt like he had to stay at home with her. She wanted him to go out and have fun and not be cooped up and bored with Summer. "Because if you are, I want to see what you're wearing before you go!"

Summer's answer provided him with all he needed to know, while her question segued wonderfully in with his plans. He knew how she liked her routine and how organized she liked her days, so he wasn't going to just lead her around blind, despite the desired surprise factor. "I'll be occupied for the evening alright, but you'll be right by my side." he grinned matter-of-factly continuing in explanation, "If you'll let me, I have plans to squire you about this crazy town. There's a party every night anyway, if you know where to look - so I won't get behind on anything as far as that goes." He smiled, dismissing the business aspect and focusing on her. They'd really perfected the way they walked with all the practice they'd been able to get, though it did still look kind of weird at first glance. He slowed their pace as they approached the steps leading outside, helping her down them one step at a time. "You deserve to have fun Sunshine, even with these little temporary handicaps... I wanna ensure that you do."

He wondered since she'd mentioned it, if she was interested in going to the party. It wasn't really her sorta scene, he knew that. No doubt it would be a semi-frustrating environment to weave through, plus he'd be tempted to make some money while he was at it and though he figured Summer was cool with it in her own way, Wade didn't want to make sales in front of her. He wasn't ashamed, or afraid, or anything... it was his respect for her that caused him to just get business done as far away from her as possible, as discreetly as possible. It worked out better that way. His sanctuary with Summer was untouched that way.

"I have some ideas, but it's entirely up to you on what you wanna do - I'm down for anything you can imagine. Like I know we're pretty limited in a way... but between you and me, we can come up with a groovy evening to best all the rest!" So the over-exaggeration wasn't necessary, but he wanted to keep Summer's spirits up so she wouldn't just want to hole herself away with her laptop all night just because she thought she might be preventing him from doing what he wanted. Though what he wanted beyond anything was for her to let loose. He nudged with a playful bump of his hip against her, smiling hopefully. "What do you say, are you willing to let me be your staggeringly handsome escort, Miss Jones?"

Summer looked across at him with slight confusion. She wasn't entirely sure what he meant by being occupied with her and she hated not knowing what was going on or where she was going. She lived her life by a certain routine and it completely threw her off when things didn't go as expected. She knew that Wade was completely understanding of this and she was so glad that he had thought to ask her, rather than just taking her somewhere. "Where are we going?" She questioned him, her voice surprised. She trusted him completely, so she was willing to go with him wherever. She knew he wouldn't ever put her in a situation where she would be scared or nervous, and that was something she completely loved about Wade. He treated her like a real person, even with all of her awkward, weird tendencies. But she was definitely glad that he didn't sound like he wanted to go to the party. Parties definitely weren't her thing, but from what she had heard, they sounded like absolute torture to her. It was basically everything she hated placed in a room - she definitely wouldn't cope so well. But if she ever had to go, she knew she would have to go with Wade, just so she felt comfortable. She balanced herself at the bottom of the steps, the gravel crunching loudly underneath the boot on her foot. "Of course I'll go out with you, silly. I like spending time with you."

She wasn't the best at picking what to do. It was hard to think of things to do that were easily accessible for them both. She didn't want him to feel like a babysitter all evening, trailing around after her and helping her in and out of buildings. "Hmm.. Maybe we could go for a meal or something? It doesn't have to be anywhere fancy. We could even go for fastfood, I really, honestly don't mind! You don't even have to stay with me, you can go out if you want to and I can stay at home and work on some stuff for class or something or watch a movie or yeah.." Her words came out too quickly, causing her to stumble over them. A small laugh escaped her mouth as she shook her head. "That didn't make any sense, I'm so sorry!" She grinned once again as Wade's hip touched hers, knocking her slightly. She took a couple of steps forward without any assistance, managing to keep herself balanced and upright. She couldn't wait for the stupid pot to be off her foot, so she could get back into dancing again. "And does this staggeringly handsome escort have any ideas?"

Wade couldn't help but love her modesty, as silly as it was sometimes. He prevented himself from giving in to the urge to lift his pointer finger up to her lips as she began her predictable ramble over staying in. He released a laugh which matched hers as she caught herself, just in time. "Yeah it really didn't." With a soft nudge he shook his head slow with a completely fake, somber disappointment. "That's what you get for thinking I'd let you off that easy, ya know." He stated playfully, the melody of it trailing in to a fond chuckle.

Sure, she'd convinced him to take off for the night more than a few times over the course of her recovery so far, to catch up on things that tended to pile up in his absence - but no way would that fly tonight. He knew that she preferred her comfort zone and all - he respected that, but if he had to insist just this once for her not to fall back upon it he was determined to do just that. But luckily, she didn't keep up the notion, she didn't continue to try and subtract herself. Instead she asked about his ideas.

His grin twisted upwards, "Well! I think it's a must that we get something to eat," he nodded to confirm, continuing to speak, "but that's not the extent of my ideas." Wade paused for effect, letting them take a few quiet steps, grinning down at Summer mischievously. Of course he was sort of hesitant to bring up the fact that his next idea would take place in a bar, somewhere that was inherently opposite to her character. But well, he'd been there plenty of times before, during the weekdays to meet up with clients and it really wasn't all that bad - definitely not anything like the nightclub close by. It was much more... calm? He guessed that was the word.

"Before anything though, would you want to stop by the house for anything? Last thing I wanna do is rush my Sunshine." With any luck, he could delay telling her about the bar's open mic at least till after their dinner. He knew very well that there was no way she'd enjoy herself fully if she was worried over something that would most likely turn out to be a non-issue.

"I don't understand why you don't just listen to me for a change and go have fun. You don't have to listen to me ramble on about how irritating these stupid casts are, you know." She half argued, but her tone was playful and light. She was glad her house was close by, it was much easier manoeuvre her way inside rather than outside! With him mentioning going home, she nodded her head. "Only if you don't mind, I'd like to change. If we're going out for food, I'd rather look better than I do now!" She grinned, pointing at the sweatpants and hoodie she was sporting. "Not my best look, I have to admit!"

She took his hand in hers, capable of walking unaided along the flat pavement on her own. "So. You do have a plan. I knew it." She wondered what it could be. Knowing Wade, it was probably something completely crazy. "As long as it doesn't involve me trying to eat fire or hug a tiger or something, I'm sure I'll love it." She took her keys from her pocket, the small charms on them tinkling against each other. She twisted the key in the lock, before pushing the door open. She was greeted with the familiar smell of home - the smell of bleach alongside many other cleaning products. Not being able to dance had left her finding areas of her house that weren't to her show home standards. She threw her backpack onto the kitchen table, before making her way into her room. "Pick me something to wear then, if you know where we're going to." She smiled, letting Wade take full control. It wasn't like her at all to let somebody else make all the choices. But being with Wade was giving her a new found confidence, even if it wasn't very visible to everyone else. She was learning to relax slightly.

She laid back on her bed, propping herself up with the assortment of pillows. She decided to tackle her hair whilst Wade was choosing, or at least attempting to choose her something to wear. She had a feeling that she would probably have to decide herself, but at least he had the option to decide. She took her hair down from the bun on top of her head, fighting with the hair tie slightly as it got caught in her curls. She flipped her head upside down, shaking out the tangled curls. "Found anything?" She called, her voice muffled slightly due to the angle she was sat at. As she sat back up, the curls bounced nicely around her chest. She figured she would just leave it as it was.

It was true though, he could just listen to her complain with the most serene look on his face the whole time. It was cute when she got irritated and itchy. Of course there was only so much he could do to help her with that, but generally he was good at taking her mind off of the frustration if only for a fleeting while. Glancing at the outfit she'd decided on earlier that day, Wade reached a playful tug to the drawstring of her hoodie. "Hey now, no one can deny how comfortable you look! You got a one up on all your classmates back there. Truly." He'd seen her look breathtaking, and though she looked the opposite right now Wade could still see it. No drab sweat clothes could make him forget that beautiful person underneath.

Of course he had a plan all along, and even though it hadn't been thought all the way through - still. "Nothing of it." he dismissed her guesses with a smile flashing over her, "The whole night has been planned, with," he fixed his eyes upon hers, insisting his words in a gentlemanly inflection, "the utmost love and consideration. So nothing crazy, upon my honor." Wade vowed, as he had vowed before upon his personal honor too many times to count. For the longest time his honor hadn't meant shit. But... nowadays, its value had steadily increased. Of course that was thanks to Summer. "I promise."

The moment they arrived home, Wade was filled with a bouyency. He saw her request as a fun challenge and reflected her smile right back at her. This wasn't the normal kind of favor between them, but he was more than willing to oblige. "Won't let you down Sunshine!" He felt it would be an easy enough request to fulfill, getting to choose what he would see her in next - like some costume director. He helped her scale the stairs out of impulse before stepping ahead swiftly in to her room and diving in to her very organized wardrobe. As a joke he was so tempted to exhume a more recent dancing costume out of all the possible clothes to pick out but as his hand glided over the fabric of a particular dress - he second guessed that urge and pulled the latter out instead. "I think I just did!" Wade informed merrily, turning to Summer with the garment held out for her consideration, grinning wide at how lovely she looked with her hair down like that. "What do you think? Too 'lost in a fairytale?'" he asked, the dress' fabric feeling like some sort of silken mist upon his fingertips as he laid it upon the bed. The choice definitely wasn't over-elegant, nor was it without an unspoken charm that would delight his eyes. "I think I need to see you in this though, you know, before making a final decision."

"Because a Summer ramble is the best ramble, right?" She laughed at him, shaking her head. She knew she had been a complete and utter pain the last few weeks. She had been so miserable with herself, that she started to feel like she was making other people feel miserable. She could sense it on the phone from her parents. They wanted to go and visit her, but she didn't want them to do that. She didn't want them to see just how much not dancing had made her feel. But in one sense, she kinda wished she had. They would maybe realise how much it meant to her that way. But still, there was no worse feeling than seeing your parents upset, and she wasn't about to do that to them. "Comfortable, yes. Especially in those freezing cold classrooms!" She was definitely dressing for comfort and not for style.

Her eyes were locked on his as he spoke. She had always loved the colour of his eyes. They reminded her of the deeper parts of the ocean, where the colour seems to change the further into the water you go. In certain lights, you could see the shallower waters, contrast to the darkness. His eyes told stories. They were as blue and as deep as the ocean themselves. She fidgeted with her fingers, cracking her knuckles as he spoke. She knew a Wade promise meant a lot. She knew he definitely wouldn't break a promise, so immediately she felt more comfortable. "Thank you. You honestly didn't have to. But I really do appreciate it and I am looking forward to whatever we're going to do." A little smile was evident on the corners of her mouth. A nervous, yet excited smile.

She could sense Wade's excitement to pick her out something to wear. It flew around the room, like a bouncing ball that had been dropped and was taking advantage of being able to bounce freely. "Good luck!" She didn't really wear much makeup outside of dance, but felt like making an effort for a change. Wade generally saw her at her comfiest - no makeup and dance wear. She figured it would be nice to dress up and look good for a change. She watched him rifle through her wardrobe as she applied her makeup - the basics only, concealer, mascara and winged eyeliner. A grin spready across her face as he held up the dress. It was a good choice - not too fancy, but fancy enough. She could tone it down with a denim jacket and manage to look casual still. "You can never be too lost in a fairytale." She signalled to all the lights and the pretty fabrics in her room.

At his idea of her trying it on, she nodded her head. They had been together a couple of months now, and she was definitely more comfortable around him, comfortable enough to change in front of him. She pulled at her joggers, trying to get the fabric over her cast and off of her leg. She laughed before offering her leg out to Wade. "Little help here?" When they finally had them off, she removed her shirt too, standing up to slip the dress over her skin. She was pretty much in the nude, aside from her underwear, but she felt pretty confident in front of him. She knew that she had a nice body and it wasn't something she had to hide from him. The cold fabric of the dress made her skin get goosebumps as it landed on her body. "How does it look?" She asked, swishing from side to side, the dress flowing with her movements.

Wade definitely wasn't accustomed to seeing Summer all made up, so on top of how she looked to him with her hair down - it was a refreshing, foreign sort of surprise as he'd turned around to face her. He'd played it off, with his theatrical grin reflecting hers. "You can say that again," he said almost absently, snapping himself out of whatever lofty reverie her magical spell had cast over him. There was being lost in a fairytale, and then there was being a fairytale - Wade had every reason to believe that Summer was a living breathing fable, a storybook dancer who claims the heart of the wandering fool.

He moved to assist her as he noticed she was having a little difficulty, stretching out the end of the leg as to fit around and off of the cast. It's rough exterior was a great contrast to the soft skin of her leg, which his fingertips brushed as he spoke aloud what he'd commented jokingly over before during one of her showers. "When this thing comes off you're gonna have to show me." He laughed, teasingly speaking of how hairy her leg had potentially gotten. Wade wasn't going to keep that topic up, though, not when she looked so breathtaking, not when she'd stripped off all her clothes and slipped the dress over her. It was always a welcome sight for him, beholding the skin over her hips and stomach even for a few fleeting seconds. A soft smile had pulled his expression in to a fond admiration as he watched her swish and sway. "Indescribably beautiful." was about the best way he could put it.

She'd looked like a rare occurrence, giving him the same feeling he'd get when he caught sight of a singular bubble - stationary but dancing and swirling in a color spectrum far beyond his grasp. He had to do as he would in that situation, stand in an appreciative awe of life itself, grateful for how it had birthed such beauty. But he could only stand in one place for so long, and before he caught himself he'd wrapped his arms around her waist tenderly and pressed himself against her in to a encompassing embrace - his head resting in the crook of her neck and shoulder - swaying together for what could've seemed like ages. Wade would've been content to just cook dinner, lay in bed with her and laugh the night away in the comforts of her bedroom if it weren't for the chimes of his phone's alarm, bringing him back to reality. He had a plan to uphold, and he had to get changed himself. He let the embrace slip, pressing a kiss to her cheek before stopping the alarm and taking steps toward the door and his room. "Don't get too comfortable Sunshine," he reminded, "we'll be out on the town in no time."

To his you can say that again comment, she grinned. "Yesterday was plain awfuuuuul" she sang, completely out of tune, thinking of the musical, Annie. She always loved that line in the movie and she had to sing to every time she heard it. She was pretty sure he'd know that one, being so into theatre like he was. "But that's not now, that's then!" She clapped loudly, along to the beat of the tune.

She was thankful when he managed to help her with the tracksuit bottoms she had on. She felt her skin tingle under his touch, before she had to pull her leg away. Being ticklish was something she hated, especially because people seemed to take advantage of it. "Oh gross, you definitely will not be seeing that leg!" She jokingly held her leg, stretching it out to pose, before laughing out loud. Being close to Wade was definitely bringing the silly side of her out. When they were at home together, she felt like she could do or talk about anything. Being in public was still a little difficult for her, but her own little bubble made things much easier.

Her expression turned serious as he commented on her appearance. She looked into his eyes, hers practically locked on his. She never really took compliments well, or even believed them at all. But she knew that Wade was being serious. She knew he wouldn't lie to her or say things just to make her feel better about herself. "Thank you." She didn't feel like she had to do the generic female, 'you're just saying that' statement. Because she knew he wasn't. "It's your good dress choosing skills!" She felt his eyes on her, before blushing slightly. She ran her hand down her neck and under her jawline, fidgeting. She wasn't used to people staring at her. Sure, hundreds of people stared at her on stage. But it wasn't intimate like this was. And then he was holding her waist, cradled into her. She could smell the familiar smell of his aftershave and the smell of his clothes, the detergent he used. It was a smell that had taken over her bed, over her favourite hoodies and the blankets she couldn't sleep without when Wade wasn't there. She felt home. In that exact moment, it was everything she felt like she ever needed. The touch of him and the smell of him and the warmth that he gave off. She knew that her feelings weren't just a childish crush anymore. She knew that she was more than ready to take things further with Wade, ready to give herself completely to him. He had been so patient with her, not wanting anything more than she was comfortable with, not taking any of her innocence away. Her head felt almost fizzy with excitement, like the feeling of drinking champagne, that tipsy, bubbly feeling. She ran her hands along his spine, her fingers tracing the bumps of his bones, her touch light and soothing.

The alarm made her jump slightly. She was so lost in the moment. She could have been standing there for hours and she wouldn't have realised. She felt his arms loosen from her waist, a slight frown spreading across her face. "Hey, I was enjoying that!" She fake pouted, before feeling his soft lips press against her cheekbone. The pout fell from her face, replaced with by a smile. "Okay Mr, I'll see you soon." She blew a kiss in his direction before he closed her door. Her happy state turned into a slight frenzy. She wanted to make sure things were going to be perfect tonight. As perfect as she could possibly prepare for, anyway. She placed her iPod into the docking station at the side of her bed, before placing the bits of makeup she had away. The clothes she was wearing previously were thrown into her wash basket, before she caught sight of herself in the mirror. She realised that she was going completely over the top unnecessary! Wade pretty much lived in this room with her, he had seen it messy and he had definitely seen her in different moods. She knew she didn't have to panic about making things perfect. The two together was enough perfection.

She picked her high top pink Converse shoes to wear, well, the one shoe on her undamaged foot. She slipped her jacket onto her shoulders, before spraying her perfume on. She left her room, waiting on the couch for Wade to be ready. She was so excited about where they were going. She decided to text her Mom, updating her on how her week had been. 'My bones are doing okay, classes were easy this week. Just going on a surprise date!' She slipped the phone into her handbag and called to Wade in his room. "Come on, mr Fancy Pants!" She laughed, her tone playful.

Wade adored how he could feel like such a happy child around Summer, especially when her inner child came out too - like when she led his words in to song. She was so beautiful, when she let go of her awkwardness she was even more so - beyond what Wade attributed to beauty. There was a purity to her, even as she teased him. He cherished it deeply, even though he had thoughts about them that would've probably made her uncomfortable. Who didn't have those thoughts though - when they're laying in bed, thinking about that someone they truly care for, who are often drifting off to sleep right beside them?

He'd laughed with a hint of regret once she complained, looking back at her and catching her blown kiss - leaving the room and closing the door with a profoundly charmed smile. The ghost of her body against him lingered as he entered his room and began to undress. He felt so fortunate to be hers, to do with as she pleased. It felt liberating to leave the terms of their relationship completely up to her, it freed Wade's mind up to ways he could improve himself. Wade watched in the mirror as he pulled on his slacks - he could still feel the warmth of her upon his fingertips, the soft fabric of her dress overlaying the firmness of her body. It was so simple.

Hearing a shuffle outside his own door way, he hurried himself along - pulling his shirt over his naked torso, leaving two or three buttons at the top undone before layering his soft corduroy blazer upon it. He mussed his long wavy hair before the mirror, looking himself in the eyes briefly before adjusting his collar just right - he still looked a little shaggy, yet polished, a satisfied grin inching over his lips as he thought of the evening ahead. He was going to make this night perfect for Summer.

"Out in a flash!" he called back, dabbing his finger quickly on some essential grapefruit seed oil which he'd just bought recently. Since Summer had quite a few beauty products which smelled like the fruit, he thought it to be a good idea. It pulled his smile even wider and seemed to energize him as well, a very welcome effect if he was going to pull off tonight as he'd brainstormed. Before walking out to join her, Wade picked up an intriguing-looking carpet bag - the likes of which Summer hadn't seen before. He used this bag solely for his magic routine and though he'd shown Summer quite a few tricks from it, she'd never seen his whole act. He grinned knowingly, "Before you ask about the bag, I have to say that it's all a part of the surprise so just groove with me on it. Okay?" he spoke as he approached her, ending his words with a fleeting kiss to her lips before he began to guide her out of the house and toward the modest used vehicle that he called his own. "First stop, dinner," he announced, adding, "mademoiselle" as he opened the passenger door for her - his expression fawning over how fair she was, how graceful she still was despite her injuries. How he wished he could've been there to prevent them... but there was no need for wishful thinking or hindsight. He had a date to orchestrate.

When Wade left his room and returned to her, a smile spread across Summer's face. He looked even more handsome than she usually found him to be. "Groovy shirt." She waggled her eyebrows, a devilish grin forming from her mouth. She had seen pretty much all of his wardrobe before, but this shirt was one she hadn't seen. But she loved it. It was so Wade and it suited him perfectly. When he began to talk about the bag, she crossed her arms over her waist, raising one eyebrow at him. "I wasn't even going to question you. Just thought you were all about the man bags!" She laughed loudly, the sound echoing around the empty room. "I'll always groove with you, ya big weirdo." She returned the kiss, before taking his hand.

The air outside was warm, yet slightly breezy. The wind blew the thinner parts of her hair, flowing backwards over her shoulders. "Time for a ride in Bunny?" She grinned, the nickname she had come up with for Wade's Volkswagen Rabbit. She loved his car - although it wasn't anything fancy, it didn't matter to her at all. She had some fantastic memories in here, funny stories and personal jokes that only those two shared. Aesthetics didn't matter to her at all. She slid into the passenger seat of the car, thanking Wade for holding her door open. He was definitely a gentleman. People in this day and age weren't as well mannered as she would like, but Wade definitely exceeded her standards.

She turned the music on low, just barely audible. She liked to chat to Wade in the car more than listen to music or sing. Her eyes flickered from Wade's face to the road every couple of minutes as he drove. The road he was taking looked like the road to the diner, but she couldn't be sure. "Are we heading to the diner? Or are you tricking me?"

With how enthusiastically groovy Summer was, there was really no reason for Wade to second guess the evening. It was a perfect sort of climate for what he'd had planned out, the breeze so welcoming and what to come so delightful - the possibility of failure was improbable within the realm of his control. "You know it is Sunshine, time to hop on outta here!" he replied cheerfully, rounding to the driver's side after closing her door. Settling in to the comforts of the worn plush seating, he buckled and started up the engine, pulling out on to the road toward the diner. He swayed with the soft instrumental music, premeditated for this evening as a calm introduction for the evening to come. "Plenty of time for tricks later," he hinted to her questions slyly, "first I think we both could use a nice filling meal to set the pace for what's to come... Before seeing whats in store inside the mysterious man bag." Wade laughed mischievously, "Nothing you won't enjoy, my promise still stands." he felt the need to remind her despite her surprisingly good mood, which he took as a good sign that everything was going perfect.

He intended to keep it that way.

They arrived at the diner pretty quickly, the traffic relatively nonexistent. Wade moved swift to help her out of the car after securing their parking, without warning wrapping his arms around her, humming with the melody of the music that had been playing, and dancing her gingerly through the parking lot and up the entrance ramp - making sure he used his weight to balance out whatever pressure that would've otherwise strained her healing ankle. It almost felt like they were the only two people in the world for a moment, something he had felt quite often when him and Summer got carried away. The entrance to the diner opening brought the moment back to reality, an older couple walked out and Wade held the door for Summer to enter. There was a quite a few people dining, but not too many as to be uncomfortable - and before they knew it they'd received their drink orders and were perusing the menu.

While Wade didn't really care what the other patrons thought and opted to sit beside Summer in the booth instead of across from her - he did care what she thought. "Do you mind, me being this close to you?" he asked with a light brush of her arm, in the context of the seating arrangement of course - though the question could've been posed, with the right phrasing, to their developing relationship as a whole. He felt he didn't have to ask, not in that case. The vibes that Summer exuded whenever he held her or caressed her skin were never of the uncomfortable sort. Quite the opposite. They'd gotten him curious, causing him to wonder if he tested the boundary... would those vibes continue to roll on, maybe increase? Wade hadn't tried, because of course he didn't want to be the one to push things forward. Not when they were already so simply comfortable being like this.

It made her wonder, what he was planning to surprise her with. The man bag definitely made her curious, but not as curious as the full evening ahead of her. "Yeah, absolutely. I'm so hungry!" She poked at her flat tummy. "Practically empty in here." She was quiet for pretty much the rest of the journey, just taking in how pretty the sun looked as it was setting outside. The sky had turned amber, the beams shining through the windows every now and again, giving her hair a golden tint to it. It didn't take long before they arrived at the diner.

Summer wasn't expecting him to dance through the parking lot with her. A small squeal escaped her mouth as he whirled her around. She could definitely tell her ankle was starting to heal; it wasn't as painful when she put weight on it as it was in the first couple of weeks. She linked her hands with his, that were still wrapped around her waist. Her dress swayed with their movements, and she felt like a little girl again. She wasn't too bothered by the older couple who saw them dancing around in the car park. In fact, the couple seemed to smile at the pair. Wade definitely had that effect on people. His smile and his energy were so contagious, and Summer could never help herself when she was with him, she had to smile. "Thank you Mr Rawlson." She felt his grip loosen around her waist, but their hands stayed linked together as they walked into the diner.

It was a pretty small place. Intimate. It was somewhere where Summer could relax. The lighting was low, with lamps dotted around in the most peculiar little corners and spaces. A wooden theme ran throughout the building, with dark beams high up the ceiling. Each table had a different mason jar with a candle in the middle, making the faces of the people sat at them glow slightly, a contrast to the dark room. A chilled out acoustic sound ran through the speakers. The whole building in itself was somewhere Summer could see herself spending a lot of time.

She was flicking through the menu as he asked her the question. She laid the menu flat onto the table before she answered him. Looking in his eyes, she smiled. She felt like she could see right into his soul. He was full of wonder, excitement and honesty. She had never met that quality in anybody before. "Of course I don't mind. You know that I love you being close to me." Her answer had further meaning than what he had asked her. "Why? Do you feel like I'm pushing you away?" She definitely didn't want to give off that vibe to him. Because it couldn't have been further from the truth for her. She was feeling like she needed him now. Not just that she wanted to be around him, but like she needed to. Like he was part of the air she needed to breathe. "Because I love being with you, and I want to be with you and I want only you."

The calm flush that washed over Wade with Summer's words reverberated from inside out. He smiled soft at her. The fact that she seemed so comfortable, letting him know how welcome he was to be so close beside her in public... brought her in to a clearer light in this comfortably dim atmosphere. Of course he knew that she was at ease by his side, but to what extent, he did not - and it was the certainty in her words that made it all the more obvious to him. It was actually enticing, in a way, seeing her shed her awkwardness in the heat of knowing exactly how she felt with him.

He shook his head slightly at the question, "Hey now, of course not," he answered, the tenderness in his voice so full yet subdued by the hushed quality in his tone. His inside voice was more or less of a fraction away from a whisper and paired with the romantic atmosphere, it was perfect. His eyes fixed within hers, he could hear and see the pure truth in her words. If the time they've spent as a couple was any indication, Wade knew he felt the exact same way. He heard what she said, and heard behind her words.
There was no doubt in his mind, heart, or soul. He was in love with her, too.

Taking her hands in to his between them, ignoring the menu even further - he responded to her, the affection in his eyes spilling out in to their eye contact. "You know no one has made me feel like you do Sunshine ... and I know no one but you ever will." Wade gazed over her features with a charmed smile, she looked so soft and alluring in the candlelight surrounding them. He raised his right hand, reaching to caress the beautiful sight with his fingertips - trailing his touch from her cheek down to her chin and guiding her face forward to meet his lips with hers.

With all the energy inside him, with everything he had - he held the contact - speaking through it what he'd been longing to tell her for what seemed to be ages now. His every fiber of being screamed out that this was love, that they were always meant to be together, were always destined to be one. Wade didn't want to pull away from her lips. He wanted to deepen this - but - they could only try the patience of their looming waiter for so long. Luckily for them, he didn't seem too put off by it, "Celebrating an anniversary?" he asked, once they parted enough to give him their attention. Wade smiled lovingly over Summer, "Yeah sure we are," he replied, his arm hooked around her shoulders - raising his brows to her as if to say, 'why not?' "Congratulations!" the guy said enthusiastically before whipping out his order pad. "What'll we be having to drink this evening?" Wade ordered a pot of tea for them both and a water for himself, looking to Summer to have her choice in the matter also - the waiter scurrying off right after.

Her skin felt like it could melt. Almost as if her skin were snow, and Wade's soft touch was fire. Her own cheeks felt warm, the words he was saying lighting some kind of fire inside of her. They flushed pink, barely visible in the dark room. "I promise I'll do everything I can do to always try and make you feel like that." Her voice was barely a whisper. She rested her hand over his, cocooning her cheek, her thumb rubbing the top of his hand.

And it was when his lips met hers when it all hit her. It hit her like a truck. A big truck. A truck driving at full speed. Hitting her in the chest, and then reversing over her again. It was overwhelming, but it was beautiful. And it was everything she could have ever imagined it to be. She was in love with him. Completely, utterly besotted with him.
It was as if in that one moment, everything they had done together, all the memories they had shared and all the conversations they had ever had flooded back to her. It played in loops through her mind and God, she loved him. She really, really loved him.

She didn't want him to break the kiss. She could have captured that moment for hours. Of course the waiter had to come over to their table right now. She leaned away from him, but the scent of his aftershave and his general 'Wade Smell' lingered around her. She raised her eyebrows at him as he entertained the waiter. She almost wanted to laugh, but that would have given it away that they weren't really celebrating anything. "Just a lemon water, please." She smiled up at the gent, but her main focus was still Wade.

"Imagine when we do celebrate our first anniversary? Or our tenth. Who knows what we'll be like then." Her mind wandered, thinking of their future together.

It was strange to feel so close to someone, if Wade ever took the time to stop and think about it. There had been a natural pull between them from the first. How did he not recognize it, that even then he loved her - he felt complete and at home and so grounded at her side. How did he overlook it? Or had he, it could be he'd just never felt this before - just now learning all over again. He grinned over her as she pondered their future together, simply watching her eyes as they turned upwards in thought, as if they were drawing up images from her mind. His arms slipped around her, his hands together at her opposite hip, "I think we'll be like right now, enjoying every moment - maybe the surprise would be bigger, but we'd still be groovin' along."

Reeling himself in closer, Wade could smell the light perfume of her hair and savored the warmth of her, releasing a pleasant sigh and spending a quiet moment just being here. "Our tenth," he mused, it was hard to think so far ahead. "that's a real trip to think about... I'd be thirty," Wade laughed lightly and shook his head with a slight motion, turning his face from her and to the menus before them - interrupting himself, "D'you think we should figure out what we're gonna have? I don't think they'll let us stay here all night, cuddled up as we are and talking of the future." He almost felt as he melted against her as he nudged his body in to hers and pressed a soft kiss upon her cheek. Wade reluctantly unraveled his arms. He picked up a single dinner menu, hmmming at the cover comically as he looked over her, opening it for them to peruse. He let the back of it rest against the table's edge and held it between them while they decided. He laughed the moment he spotted the spaghetti bolognese special, pointing to it and commenting accordingly, "Think they do better than us?" brow lifted, laughing in an exhale, he doubted it could compare - so Wade answered his own question, theatrically shaking his head as if the menu was a disagreeable newspaper article. "Surely not!"

The waiter rushed over with their drinks and asked if anything was wrong, he looked a little panicked after probably catching sight of Wade, who had to hold in his laughter while he explained that it was just an inside joke, that he could chill and no problems. Wade poured out some tea for both of them as the guy sighed, "Very sorry for the misunderstanding, would you like to order now?" Wade kept his soft smile and nodded, "Sure, and no worries Tim," his name tag legible enough to catch at a glance. He waited for Summer to order first, only closing the menu as he took his turn. "I'll get your lemon pepper salmon," he handed over the menus to him with a nod - and he was off again. "poor dude looks overworked." he commented, having already decided to tip the guy generously. "Well, he won't have to worry about us, now won't he?" though the words exited his mouth fairly awkwardly, Wade's contagious smile beamed directly over as he placed her tea cup before her - taking a light nip of his own.

She rested her elbows on the table. It wasn't that fancy - not to the point where she would be in trouble for having her elbows on a table. Her chin sat in her dainty hands, her mind daydreaming about the future. "Always groovin'." Her eyes were locked on an elderly couple, probably in their late 60's. They looked absolutely completely in love with each other. Summer could see that same picture in the future. Her and Wade sat in a little diner, still in love and still as close as they are now. A small smile stretched on her lips as the future played out in her head, Wade leaning closer to her, as if he could see it, too. She could feel her bony shoulders digging into his arms, hoping they weren't hurting him. She felt bad that sometimes he had small bruises from where she was so bony! Her mind wandered. Would they have children? Or would they just travel around as their little twosome?

She snapped back to her reality as Wade spoke again. It was weird to think of Wade being thirty! "I'd be 26! Woah!" She didn't even want to think about being old! "That's crazy. I wonder if I'll actually look like an adult by then!" She grinned, her face looking even more childlike than usual. She had always looked a lot younger than her age, despite how tall she was. Like a disproportioned child, when they first get their growth spurt.

She was about to nod her head in agreement, but her tummy answered before her. It rumbled quietly and Summer's high pitched laugh flowed through the room. "As much as I could sit here all night, I think we'd better order before they get annoyed with us." Her eyes flickered through the menu, but mainly they focused on Wade's face. She loved how he looked when he was deep in concentration. He was like a different person. Her eyebrows raised as he mention the spaghetti bolognese, her grin mischievous and childlike. "Surely not! I don't think anybody could ever beat us at cooking!" She thought back to the day they had made it, remembering that she had accidentally thrown mince across her kitchen and in Wade's direction. She got the giggles and at the same time, began hiccupping. "Oh no!" she half spoke, half hiccuped.

She let Wade do the talking as she tried to stifle her hiccups and also her laughter. She lifted the glass of water to her mouth, trying to swallow them down, before half choking on it. "Sorry.. Wrong hole!" Her cheeks had lit up and she felt like they were on fire. "Sorry!" She took a moment to compose herself before she ordered. "I'll have the chicken wrap, please. But no fries, if that's okay." As he left their table, she burst back into a fit of laughter. "I bet the poor guy thought he was going to have to do CPR at our table!" She nodded her head in agreement. He definitely did look overworked. The place was getting busy and there seemed to be a staff shortage. "He's doing his best, bless him." She looked over at the waiter, who seemed to be on the receiving end of some rude and impatient customers.

She stirred the tea slowly, watching the water swirl around in her cup. "I'm having a lovely evening, so far. I almost forgot about my foot!" She had pretty much forgotten about her wrist being broken, that wasn't so much of an issue. It was just the boot that irritated her. "I hope you're having a nice time.." She looked up at him, her eyes practically sparkling.

As much as Wade wanted to try and picture her looking older, beside an older looking him - it was difficult. Not that he couldn't picture them together in ten years, because he definitely could, but he couldn't fathom Summer looking any different. If age hadn't much affected her features by now, Wade contented himself that she'd look just as fresh in a decade. He couldn't exactly say the same about himself, he'd always acted older than he really was throughout his childhood, which followed him through adolescence to now. He figured he looked his age, plus a year or two due to extended periods of wild oblivion - he knew it showed sometimes, whenever his face slacked from his usual carefree expression. It wasn't a bother to him, though he could see eyes of judgement sometimes as he'd escort Summer around. With her looking so young, there was no doubt there was an age gap between them. "You'll be carded everywhere we go, at least till you're in your mid-thirties." he laughed mildly, just imagining Summer complaining about it in the future. "All you have to do is remember to take it as a compliment every time."

Her laughter was so contagious, Wade couldn't help but follow her lead - his face hot and cheeks tight as her laughter turned to hiccups. His hand rubbed her back in attempt to help quell them, calming his laughter down as he relayed everything to the waiter - who was patient enough to wait for Summer to take a drink. He nodded at the order, unsure if she was really going to be alright before being called over by another table. Their laughter resumed so quickly that Wade forgot what he had even ordered for a second. He felt like a child with her, like all this was a fun game of pretend they'd decided to play. "Don't you worry about ever having to get CPR from some waiter when you're with me Sunshine. I'll be the first to hop to and save the day." Though technically he wasn't officially certified to, Wade knew the ropes when it came to that. He'd seen it been done a few times, what more experience would he need? Okay, maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea. He doubted that would ever have to happen anyway, "I'll just make sure to not make you laugh when you're eating. Like the old proverb says, An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." he recalled from memory, smiling over her with an air of wisdom in his gaze.

His smile widened as she admitted that she'd almost forgotten her injury. "It's a miracle!" Wade joked in faux-surprise - feeling completely silly after having laughed so much. He could barely straighten his mouth from the smiles that just kept stuck upon his lips. "Nice is an understatement. The word streamed from his lips like a golden thread. He looked over her, his eyes mirroring hers once again. He wondered if this was the right time to say it. No, if he had to think about it - it couldn't be.

The fact he still referred to them as 'we' made her very happy. Even in their thirties. It seemed like such a long time away, after all. "Yeah, my parents always say that." She grabbed her drivers ID from her purse, showing it to Wade. "I literally look like a 12-year-old. Nobody ever believes that I'm nearly 17!" She ran her finger over the card, wiping the dust that had collected on it over the weeks of not having to actually take it out of her purse. "Yeah, I figure I'll enjoy looking younger when I'm older. Unless my face catches up with me in one big go, and then I'll be old and wrinkly waaaay before my time!" Summer imagined herself having the biggest worry lines. Worrying did seem to be the thing she did most often, so it was hard to imagine her without them.

Her laughter trailed off into a low chuckle, before she returned to her usual, quiet self. Sure, a huge grin remained on her face and every couple of minutes, a laugh would escape her mouth when she thought about what had happened. But she was more serious now, more aware of her surroundings. They had caused quite a scene between them!

"Let's hope that I never, ever need CPR!" She crossed her hands over her lap, smiling up at Wade. "But I'm pretty sure if I ever did need it, you'd be there to save the day." She leaned closer to him, planting a kiss on his cheek. She poured the tea into her cup, the sound as it flowed from the pot into the small china teacup satisfying to her. "That's probably for the best." She agreed, nodding her head slightly. She lifted the cup to her mouth, taking a small sip, the tea still a little too hot to drink properly. The remains of her lipstick clung to the side of the cup. "But I actually know CPR if you ever need it. Fingers crossed that you don't!" She crossed her fingers on both hands, smiling softly.

Summer listened as he joked around with her. But he was right. Enchanting was the word to describe this evening. "It's magical." Her eyes wandered around the room, suddenly noticing how dark it had gotten outside. The candle lights in the middle of the tables were the main source of light now, along with the fairy lights dotted here, there and everywhere. "It reminds me of a fairy tale. Like the cute fairy scene in Peter Pan. The lights are like Pixie Dust everywhere, a little bit like the ones in my bedroom.." Her voice was low, but very soft. It was pretty much a whisper as she took in how gorgeous the room actually was. How she had never been here was beyond her, but then again. she'd never had somebody like Wade before.
Never had somebody who she could share these small but intimate moments with. This place would have been beautiful regardless, but with Wade, it made it a million times more perfect. She honestly couldn't see herself sitting here with anybody else. "Thank you. For everything."

The cute moment was disturbed as the waiter returned to their table, balancing plates in both of his hands. He was a little bit stumbly, rushed off of his feet. "Sorry about the wait!" He rested the plates down in front of the pair. "Oh, no rush! We're absolutely fine here! Thank you so much." Summer smiled up at him as he placed the cutlery down beside the plates. "Let me know if you guys need anything." He smiled, leaving the couple to their food. "This looks amazing!" She awed as the steam from the food flowed up into the air.

He examined the identification with humor and interest, retrieving it from her and looking it over a little closer as he leaned his back in to the seat. How had he not seen it before? “You definitely don't look old enough to drive, not in this picture anyway,” he smiled. She still looked like Summer, still lovely despite the bad lighting at the DMV. Handing the ID back with a nod of approval, he morphed his expression in to an almost smug certainty. “It won't if I have any say,” Wade laughed mildly, his hand gracing a touch to her chin as he continued, “your face will be fresh and wrinkle-free as a daisy as long you keep me around to tend to it.”

“You've got that right Sunshine.” Wade nodded wholeheartedly, his face warm from smiling – her lips leaving a breezy sensation where they had pressed against his cheek. Last thing he'd ever want is having to practice his knowledge of CPR upon her. But of course if he ever needed to there'd be no hesitation. “I'll super cross mine, just to be safe.” Wade laughed as he crossed the pointer and middle as well as the pinky and ring fingers of both hands, going further and crossing his forearms together too. “Now we'll be immune to ever needing CPR.” He grinned, still silly enough to sound a bit convincing.

Unraveling his arms and fingers forward, he stretched slightly before returning to the cozy position – lifting his tea cup to his lips again, this time the liquid at a soothing temperature. He undoubtedly agreed with her, the set up was perfectly magical in almost every way. There was a reason why he'd brought her here over any other possibly fancier place. There was a silent charm about how everything had been placed under the glowing canopy of lights, how the dimness touched everything underneath it so softly. Wade had to include coming here in his plan because he knew Summer would really feel at home here with him.... and she was right, it did strike a similarity to her room - it just wasn't as private. “It's almost as if we haven't left, hmmmm?” he nudged her gently, leaning in as his tone drew out his question, humming close to her ear before kissing her cheek in a delayed return.

“You don't need to thank me for anything, I'm doing all of this because I can't help but want to make you happy. It makes me happy,” Wade spoke softly, his face still so close. “more than that though, it gives me purpose.” He smiled, his lips feeling drawn to hers again – but again, it being disrupted by the waiter's approach with their meal. He really had shit timing, but oh well. The food looked and smelled well worth the postponed kiss. Wade thanked the waiter briefly and grinned over their plates, looking to Summer as he scampered off. “They really put a lot of effort in to the presentation, dig it.” he commented with an enthused expression, “If it tastes as good as it looks, I think we've just found our main date night spot, what do you say?” Wade inquired merrily, rearranging a few things upon the tables surface as to make things more accessible for her, taking out his utensils as well.

She couldn't believe she had actually, voluntarily showed Wade her driver's license photograph! She laughed quietly, nodding her head in agreement. She definitely did not look old enough to drive and had actually been questioned a couple of times on the roads. She rested her hand on his arm, her fingers cold to the touch, before she squeezed his arm. "Oh, are you going to do one of your magic tricks to keep me 16 forever?" she quizzed him, her tone light and playful.

She hummed along to the music that was playing in the background, their table now quiet enough to hear it playing. That was the thing with Summer - she seemed to know every single song in the world. And even if she didn't know the song, she would know how it was going to go. How the beat and rhythm would flow. It was a dance thing, but people could find it a little bit strange.

He was right. It did feel almost as if they were still at home. Just dressed a little more fancy. Her eyes focused on Wade as she hummed in agreement. "It really does feel like we're still at our house." Her focus switched from his eyes, to the lights behind him. When she looked back at him, the lights faded into a soft, warm glow behind him. Almost as if she was focusing a camera lens. "You look lovely, you know."
When she was with Wade, it was almost as if the rest of the world turned into black and white. But he was a vibrant rainbow. And she couldn't help but focus all of her attention on him.

She laughed slightly as Wade's kiss was interrupted. She'd have to remember that he owed her a kiss later on in the evening. Although, she was sure that she would receive many more. It wasn't something she'd ever have to ask for. "Purpose?" She questioned, her head tilted sideways, like a puppy - confused at what it had been asked. "It looks amazing doesn't it.. Definitely our date spot!" She swooned over the food, before picking up her knife and fork. They felt unusually cold in her hands. "Bon Appetit!"

Wade had shrugged playfully, not flinching at her cold touch and raising his brows in to an innocently smirking facade as he replied to her query, "Mayybe, you just got to wait and see. Just like I do." He eyed Summer with adoration as she hummed so soothingly, the musician in him always caught these snippets. He savored how she could enmesh in any and every song like that, sometimes he would put a particular piece of music on just to test this intuitive gift of hers. Wade leaned in to her, feeling the vibration of her humming and really appreciating the fact that she was here, existing alongside of him. Oh it almost pained him now... how much he realized that this feeling attempting to burst through his chest now was love, infinite and all powerful love enveloping both of them. She agreed with him and he joined her in a moment, just letting this feeling pour out his eyes and chest. She was so radiant. Being the subject of her gaze was like basking in the sun on a chill day - he did not want to move out of it if he could help it, "I was thinking I'd let you pick out my clothes tonight, since I picked out yours - but I think I'll save that for another night on the town."

With tonight already going so well, he knew there would be plenty more dates to come. Even though they hadn't exactly started their relationship in that more regimented way, Wade wanted her to feel like she deserved everything and more. He wanted her to feel as he did when he looked in to her eyes, when she transported him to a world that only they occupied. There wasn't really a way that he could explain himself without telling her, and they were just about to eat. There would be plenty of time, though. He nodded at her observation, his silverware in his hands also - repeating a cheery, "Bon appetit~" back to her - reaching his fork over briefly to clink it with hers before moving to gather the first bite on to it.

The salmon was cooked to a perfect light crisp, the seasoning on its surface not overpowering the flavor of the fish it all. The whole dish complemented this central focus, from the rice pilaf to the asparagus medley, it was all so delectable. "I can hardly believe how perfect this is," he grinned, setting the silver ware down for a drink of his tea. "how's yours?" He questioned simply, not expecting much more than a fervent nod or something along those lines. He knew that when it came to eating in general, there wasn't much room for conversation - so he did what he'd normally do - knock knees with hers under the table. Yet another childlike habit he had fallen in to in his time with her. It was either this or playing footsies under the table, which he knew better than that, with her boot on and everything.

They were able to enjoy their meal leisurely, the waiter coming around now and then to check on them and ask if they'd need any desserts. Wade declined for both of them, knowing the surprises awaiting in their near future. "We will take the check now though," he informed him, thanking the guy as he was off again and turning to Summer. "So do you think you're prepared to leave this home away from home, to go journeying in to the unknown with me?" he asked with a smile bordering on devious, drinking up the rest of his tea as he watched her slyly over the rim of the teacup.

"I'm not sure how I'd ever manage that.." She drifted off into a mental daze. Wade had so many groovy outfits. He probably had more funky shirts than she had altogether. "One day I'll pick something for you. Another night on the town sounds good to me." She truly meant it. She loved spending time with Wade. Sure, their house was great and she loved being there with him. But being out was completely different. They didn't have to spend money or dress fancy, either. Picnics in the park in their cosy clothes would be good enough for Summer.

She cut into the chicken fajita wrap that was laid out in front of her. Most people would just pick it up and eat it, but not Summer. That would be far too messy! She continued to knock knee's with him under the table, their hitting against each others like Newton's Cradle. They had brought her a salad, aware of the fact she didn't want any fries or extras with it. She cut her way through the various shades of green on her plate, nibbling away. She gave him a thumbs up, her mouth full and she didn't want to be rude and speak. She washed the food down with a glass of water, turning back to him. "It's great. you have to try this.." She cut into the wrap again, sliding it onto her fork and into Wade's mouth. A trail of mayonnaise fell from the wrap and onto his chin, causing her to giggle. "Oops." Taking the napkin closest to her, she wiped his chin down, her fingers lingering for slightly too long on the corner of his mouth. Her own eyes crinkled at the sides, due to the smile that was huge on her face.

She let Wade do the talking to the waiter. After all, this evening was all organised by him and he knew what would be happening next. She took out her purse, leaving the money for her meal and extra as a tip. The waiter had been truly wonderful this evening, he deserved it. A smug grin spread across her face. "There's no earthly way of knowing which direction they are going.." she murmured, well aware of how much they both liked the movie.
"Absolutely ready. Good to go?" She questioned, sliding out from under the table.

Bestowing upon her a look that said 'Come on, give yourself some credit', Wade shook his head slightly. He was all for giving her a chance to dictate his wardrobe, he knew she had a good eye even if it was much more... modest than his. He grinned as to completely agree with her. Maybe it wouldn't be a night though - maybe their next time on the town would be a whole day thing! He could see it now, skipping carefree through the park with her, laughing and scheming to release all the animals from the Zoo. Well, he'd be scheming while she'd be low key persuading against the idea. He'd have to keep that in mind for future reference, for sure.

He wasn't at all what one would call a well-mannered eater and never had been, so he was a direct contrast with how Summer conducted herself with her utensils - bouncing his brows at her thumbs up with a full mouth before she offered some over to him. Swallowing the bite he'd been chewing, Wade opened for the morsel, distinctly feeling the dribble upon his chin. His expression lifted at how simple but delicious the bite was, his deep blue eyes encompassing hers as she took it upon herself to clean off whatever had dripped. If it'd been any closer to his mouth he probably could've reached it with his tongue, but as it was, he liked how Summer took care of it. She was a nurturer, without a doubt. She took such good care of him, how could he not always reciprocate?

They both finished up their meals and the waiter came back around with the bill, receiving the payment from Wade in return almost immediately. He wasn't going to let Summer pay for her meal, but he didn't mind leaving what she placed upon the table as a nice tip for the service. He added a few spare bills to the stack as well, well over twenty dollars there for the guy to use at his leisure. "No way of knowing where we're rowing, or the way the river's flowing," he playfully continued her murmur as he stood, moving to her side and offering her his arm as any true gentleman would. The waiter rushed by with a farewell before they made their exit and Wade gave a short salute-like wave before guiding Summer once more through the door.

They had a good amount of time to spend before the open mic began - so once they stepped out in to the darkening evening, Wade led them not to the car, but towards the park. He'd planned for this of course, in the case that their dinner didn't take too long. They could cut through the park and reach the bar without much effort. But first, he owed her a kiss. The very second they were out of the walkway and upon the asphalt of the parking lot, Wade smiled mischievously over her and stopped their stroll. Turning in to her, his arms slipped upwards and his hands graced the sides of her face gently - she was so soft, how could she be so soft all the time? The mischievous look morphed in to something much more tender, he felt the waves of the love within him crash over them both and he almost quivered with the sensation - instead opting to lower his face to hers and once again release this all-powerful affection in to the meeting of their lips.

The breeze hit as soon as they stepped outside. Summer's curls dancing with the air, floating around her face. It was cool outside, cool enough for her to have to wear her denim jacket again. But Summer was always cool and usually did have to cover up, even indoors. She struggled slightly managing to fit her potted wrist into one sleeve, but with precision and timing, she managed to get it over her arm. She made a mental note to not take her jacket off for the rest of the evening, it was just too fiddly to get it on and off.

She turned to face Wade as soon as he stopped her from walking, pulling her hand back. His face looked naughty. Like a child who was up to no good, about to be caught by their parents. She raised her eyebrows, a smirk on her own face. It was completely different to see Wade like this. His smile felt like direct sunlight, as if it was radiating from his smile and hitting her with its rays. "You've got that cheeky look on yo..." She was about to finish her sentence, but was greeted by Wade's lips on hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck, still slightly unsure what to do with her hands. Although they'd had many kisses, she still never wanted to do the wrong thing. She pulled away, aware of people around the car park and able to see them through the restaurant windows. Her cheeks were slightly blushed, and she pushed her hair out of her face. She looked up at him through her dark eyes, her face slightly sheepish. "That was.." She thought about it for a second. There were many words she could have used to explain how that kiss made her feel, but she couldn't find the right one. "Perfect. For me, it was."

She linked her fingers with his, a shiver running down her spine. She wasn't sure if that was from the weather or if it was from all the feelings and emotions that were running through her mind. They were bouncing around her brain like power balls and she didn't know what to do with them. Should she tell him? Should she keep it quiet? This was all completely new to her and she didn't want to ruin anything.
She half wished she had been through this before. Just so she would have some idea what to do. She didn't want to bore Wade with how slowly things were going, but she didn't want to say something stupid and scare him away, either.

"Where to, Mr Wade?"

Of course Wade knew the possibility that people inside the restaurant and out there in the parking lot were witnessing their affection, but he didn't pay that fact any mind. The chill breeze swept around them and all he could feel was the fire within him, within the contact of their lips. He grinned in adoration over her as she considered her words, his hand coming up against the side of her face to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear. “They keep getting better and better don't they,” he kept his expression intact as they brought their hands together, “before you know it we'll both be exceeding perfection, Sunshine.”

Wade nudged in to her slightly, drawing away before stepping forward, leading them past the Rabbit. “To the park, where we can stroll and see where the path takes us,” He squeezed her hand in his slightly, crossing the road with her – mindful of their pace and grateful for the considerable gap in the evening's traffic. He felt so important there, at her side as a trusted guide - leading them through the park, off the pavement and on to the soft grasses which inclined slightly as they moved forward. He paused once his attention was pulled upward to the sky above, the stars illuminating their positions over them and twinkling within his searching eyes. Here was where they needed to be at the moment, Wade knew it. It was here, the perfect place in time. His feet stuck there upon the hill, feeling embedded with the Earth below - his hand sliding from hers, arm reaching around her waist to bring her closer against his side as the wind picked up slightly. A deep inhale of the cool air refreshed his senses, the feeling of her warmth cocooned by the silky fabric so prevalent as his hand settled upon her opposite hip.

The moon was a smiling sliver overhead, and Wade noted the planets that lingered by. "Thank you, all of you for coming tonight," he began to speak with grand inflections, "it's so great to have you here. Especially because this is a unique and remarkable event you are all about to witness." He had to get her wanting more, to hold her attention. What better way really, to get what he wanted to say across, than to do it in the way he did best. Of course, he was performing but he was not acting. There was nothing false in his words to follow. "Before you, stands myself and my Sunshine. Behold, how I stand proud beside her, ah - the sight of her, how could I match in comparison?" He reached his other arm outward in a flowing theatrical manner, gesturing it as he spoke - taking pause to lovingly smile at her. Wade's tone softened, matching the tenderness of his expression as he released his words directly to her. "She is my heart's devotion. As my heart beats, it is hers to keep - because, I love her so deeply... and I can only hope she feels as I feel. By chance," his eyes moved over her face, enchanting - so enchanting in the cool light that poured over them from their audience. "she might."

The bright and sunny day had been swallowed by the darkness, but the moon was acting as their torch for the evening. It was playing hide and seek, weaving in and out of the black clouds that were scattered wildly across the sky. She linked her hand with Wade, him leading her to their next destination. She had been to the park plenty of times before, but she had never been there in the dark. She was glad that Wade was there to guide her - she would have definitely gotten lost if she were alone. The couple were pretty much silent, but it was strangely relaxing. They didn't have to be overly chatty with each other, just being in each others company was more than enough, or at least it was for Summer.

In the time it had taken them to walk from the restaurant to the park, and up the hill which wasn't the easiest or quickest of tasks in a potted ankle, the dark clouds had multiplied, but the silver beams from the moon seemed to act as a spotlight directly where they were standing, and the rest of the sky looked to be filled with shiny sequins. A smile spread across Summer's face as Wade began to talk. She had only seen him in a character so many times. Their schedules unfortunately clashed very often, meaning they missed each others performances. She wondered if this was going to be a perfomance, or if it was going to be the real Wade. Of course, there was only Summer stood there listening to him speak. But she loved the way he was putting on a show. He was probably into his perfomance as much as Summer was, if not more. She looked over her shoulders as he addressed his audience, before grinning back up at him.

She listened intently to what he had to say. She wanted to hold both of his hands, to be right there in that moment with him. But he began to gesture with his hands, and she didn't want to ruin his flow. Instead, she took a step back, before perching on the bench just behind her. Her foot was kind of bothering her, but nothing was going to ruin this moment for her. Not her foot, or her wrist, or the tiny droplets of rain that were beginning to fall. Her heart was racing. The only people who'd ever told her they loved her before were her parents and her friends. She didn't know how to react, she didn't even feel like she could breathe properly. Her eyes were locked on Wade's deep blue eyes as she stood up, moving closer to him.

"She does." Was all she could manage to get out, before she pressed her lips against his. She wrapped her arms around him as she kissed him passionately. She felt overrun with emotions, but liked the feeling. It was amazing to her to know that somebody was capable of loving her. Little shy Summer, with nothing to do but dance. As if it was a scene from a movie, the thunder cracked above them, the rain suddenly turning into a downpour. But she wasn't even bothered. This feeling was amazing to her, and she didn't even want to move away from where they were right now. She looked up at Wade, her smile wide and her eyes even wider. "I love you, I really do." The rain was soaking the pair, but it wasn't a moment that could be washed away. "You're all I want. You, us, this." She gestured around to the rain and where they were standing. "It's everything to me." She took his hands, squeezing them slightly. "You mean so much to me, more than I could ever explain. You make me feel like I'm a real person and like I'm constantly floating in the clouds." Her hair was now dripping onto her shoulders, but she didn't feel cold. The passion between the pair felt like a fire. "I love you, Wade."

When the rain drops began, Wade paid absolutely no attention to them. His focus was entirely on Summer and upon the knots in his stomach which coiled tighter until she spoke. His heart throbbed in his chest, almost exploding with the two simple words that she released. The reassurance gave way to what he could only feel to be a profound bliss – her lips so supple, so welcoming against his and their kiss such a tender confirmation of her words. Her love was real. It was true. It was everything good and right in the world and it was his. Wade's arms wound around her small frame and held her so close that he could feel her breath moving delicately within her chest. Wade's own breath fell in sync with hers as their kiss deepened and enveloped all of his senses, even as the rain began to pour and drench both of them. He didn't pull far away at all as their lips parted, his forehead resting against hers - his posture stooped and blocking the rain from falling upon her face if only momentarily.

As she began to speak, Wade soaked in everything she was saying. He allowed a small gap to form between them just so he could see her as she professed her love for him. There was nothing more beautiful than her, in this moment. Nothing could compare to this. Her hands clasped around his almost felt like she was cradling his entire body, the intensifying pull within the intimate space between them was nothing like anything Wade had felt before. The peaceful adoration he held over her grew and grew, and he couldn't hold in his words. “I love you so much,” He didn't care if they sounded cliche, they were true. "Summer, you complete me. From the first, I just knew it - I can't resist how whole you make me feel. I want to always feel like this, always be by your side. Be as much a part of you as the stars in the sky." He smiled softly, his hair seeming longer now just by being so limp and drenched. His gaze couldn't stray from hers. Even if he wanted to look away he just couldn't - he was spellbound by the look of love that shined upwards from her beautiful face, mirroring it as a feeling not unlike spinning blurred everything surrounding them.

The thunder clapped and a strike of lightning illuminated everything in to daylight for a split second – Wade's udder joy tightened the smile overcoming his face. “Even the heavens applaud our love.” he observed, taking his right hand away to rake back the hair from his face before he leaned forward and kissed her again – prolonging the contact and having to stifle his laugh as the thunder crashed harder overhead. “Or second thought, maybe they're telling us to get a room.” he spoke soft in good humor as he slowly drew his lips from hers – bending his knees and lifting her off her feet to carry her down the hill.

Wade didn't consider how slick the soft grasses would be with the falling rain, or how much weight both his and Summer's would be for his walk down the incline. He didn't even get half way before he fell backwards, nearly knocking the wind out of him to which his only response was laughter. At least she fell upon him and not the other way around because the last thing he'd ever want to do would be to injure her, even if it was a silly accident. "Well," he exhaled, laying his head down upon the grass instead of picking himself up - making the best of his position and finding himself too comfortable sandwiched between her and the earth below.

It felt like everything in the world made sense in that one moment. It almost felt as if there was nobody else in the world but Summer and Wade! She welcomed his kiss, feeling like she needed it. She needed to feel him there with her. He was like a reassurance to her. He loved her so much, and she knew that. He was there, always. She rested her hands on his chest as their mouths met, the raindrops dripping down her face. As he rested his forehead on hers, she tried to regain her usual breathing pattern. It was taking her a few minutes to comprehend all of this. She was in love! She was so in love, with somebody who loved her almost as much as she loved him. Her breathing was visible in her chest, rising and falling far too quickly, compared to usual.

Her hip bones were touching Wade's stomach, they were that close to each other. She raised her hands to his face, holding his cheeks between her cold hands. Her eyes were locked on his, her makeup smudged from the amount of rain that had fallen onto them. "You're everything to me." The warm flush of his cheeks burned against her palms. She tucked his limp hair behind his ears as he spoke, taking in his every word. It felt like the rain was his words, soaking into her hair, her clothes, and her skin. She drowned in them. "Please don't leave my side. Ever.." She mumbled, reaching back up to kiss him. There was a feeling of urgency in her kiss. It was more forceful than a kiss she had ever given him. She knew that she was ready - she was ready to give herself completely to him. He had given her the best gift of all - his complete and utter adoration. He had taught her how to live, how to breathe and to be herself. To accept that maybe, she was more than just a dancer on a stage. She was Summer, she deserved to be treated like Wade was treating her. Her hands lingered on his neck, before she placed one hand under his shirt, feeling his heart beating. It matched the rhythm of her own.

She giggled as she pulled away from him, listening to the thunder rumble above their heads. The lightning usually scared her, but she had nothing to be scared of when she was with Wade. He protected her, and she knew that nothing would cause her harm when she was with him. She couldn't help herself but laugh, her spirits too high to dampen. "I'm guessing it's the latter!" She wouldn't have even cared if anybody had seen them, because she didn't care what anybody else thought. This was everything she could ever want, and more.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as he picked her up, slightly unprepared for it. But she was thankful, the grass had gotten pretty muddy in the time since the rain began to fall around them. She was about to complain that she was too heavy for him to carry, but the only noise that left her mouth was a shriek as they slipped backwards. Laid on his chest on the muddy, wet floor, she had to laugh. There was nothing else that she could do. If only somebody had filmed it, they could have been on TV! She tucked her own hair behind her ears, no evidence that it was ever pretty and curled earlier on in the evening. They were so close that their noses were practically touching. "Well.." She echoed, kissing him once again. They felt like they combined as one person when they kissed, like their souls were touching. They melted into one. Her heart was beating fast, her body fueled by adrenaline. "Maybe we should go home.." She whispered, biting down on her lip. She wanted to do this. She wanted to do it now.
