”Yeah! Isn’t that fun! Last time I saw you was when you came to my suite looking for Maxine. Thaaaat was awkward.” He cracked a teasing smile as he saw Ethan texting someone. He didn’t know or care who it was. He put his own phone on the table. It vibrated to indicate a text but Chad didn’t look at it and instead placed his tray of burger and fries beside it, fhsing inside his backpack.

He pulled out a notebook that looked realitively plain and empty. He flipped open a few pages, revealing that he took notes sporadically, if at all. Half of the pages were half finished or blank, and doodles lined the sizes.

He opened to the page of the assignment, cleared his throat, and opened it up.

”Well it says we have to find out information about the other pertaining to art. Soooo… what’s your inspiration? For me, it’s hot girls.” Chad said, flashing Ethan a grin.

”You do know that when you say that it makes me want to bring her up more.” Chad said, but he supposed if he wanted to pass this class he had to actually get along with Ethan. So he just sighed in compliance and stared at his phone He saw who the text was from and realized it was one of the girls who he’d just been joking with. He unlocked his phone and sent a quick reply.

”Everything? That’s such a vague answer. You and I both know that the professor won’t accept it.” Chad said, but he wrote it down anyway. It wasn’t like it was his fault if his partner was too vague… right? ”I like to paint. I do it on easels. Spray-painting’s how I got into art. I don’t do it as much as I used to anymore. One day, I’m gonna be the marketing director of my dad’s company! He’s basically promised me the position once I graduate.”

He grinned again.

”Dude if you got a reputation as a tagger you probably shouldn’t include it in a school project. They’ll expel you.” He said. He remembered when he went with Lils and tagged a building, and the fear he’d felt when he was almost caught. Phew! He was glad he got out of that one unscathed. Chad couldn’t handle getting expelled. It’d look horrible on his record after all!

He glanced at the picture.

”Oh, cool picture. I look hot, don’t I?” He said, winking. ”Next? Well, you gotta give me enough about you to write an essay on and I’m not really good at asking the deep questions. What’s your family like?”

Chad nodded along to what Ethan said, only half aware that he should be writing this stuff down. It finally clicked a few seconds too late and he got most of it on his notes, something about family in Spain and a family here. He guessed that was enough. It wasn’t like he had to show Ethan the finished project, after all, he could always bullshit some more stories for word count if he had to. He had a feeling the teacher didn’t even actually read the essays – they probably just skimmed and then assigned a grade based on whether or not the essay made sense. He made notes under “family” that included “dad painting” and “mom stay-at-home” and “lame sister”. He then put his pencil down and, when Ethan asked about his family, Chad looked up and to the left.

”I live with my dad. He’s head of RichCorp. The computer company. That’s where all my money comes from. My mom’s a bitch. Feel free to add that in your essay – I don’t care.” He hummed slightly, drumming his fingers on his chin. ”No siblings. I got an extended family, a few uncles, but we never talk except at funerals and weddings my dad drags me to. I’ve been around the world – and by the world, I mean Europe. It’s gorgeous there. Plus, girls in France are hot as hell.”

”Spanish girls are hotter? Damn, I’ll have to fly out there to see for myself.” Chad wiggled his brows, already picturing the tan skin and dark hair of a Spanish woman, her curves bouncing out of her shirt, the buttons coming loose… she could speak not a lick of English but that didn’t matter – if he could get her out of her clothes and into the sheets, he’d be all set! He wondered if he’d get to create some art over there, too. He probably would.

When he was handed the notes, Chad glanced them over, eyes widening at the mention of a gang.

”Wait, dude, you were in a gang?” he asked. ”What was it like?”

”You want to take me to Spain? That’s a biiiig trip for someone who you barely know! But I do go to Europe a lot. I don’t think my dad would object to me going to Spain.” He said. ”I could probably see about going in the summer! Or on the next vacation! When are you planning to go?”

The project was forgotten by Chad – now he was excited about a potential trip to Spain!
