Giovanni rolled over to the side, wrapping his arms tighter around the familiar comfort of Jasleen in his bed. He was so comfortable right now that he almost wanted to go straight back to sleep. He inhaled deeply before a silent yawn escaped his mouth. He could sense Jasleen's wild curls on the side of his cheek, her hair soft like always. Giovanni opened his eyes for the first time and arched his back, feeling it crack right down his spine - one of the first things he did every day. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he looked over at the clock on the wall, shocked to find it was almost 11 am. He still felt super tired, despite having a very well needed lay in. He had had a tiring day previously - a day spent full of teaching back to back classes, before coming home and crashing with Jasleen, watching old episodes of Dance Moms and Pretty Little Liars whilst eating Chinese food and drinking wine. The pair often slept over at each others dorms and for once, they didn't have sex. They just needed the familiarity of each other - they could do absolutely nothing, not even speak to each other, and it still be enough to relax them both.
After running his fingertips down her arms slowly, Giovanni released his grasp from Jasleen, stretching his arms above his head. The room was almost silent, apart from the ticking of the clock and the sound of Jasleen breathing. It was weirdly relaxing to Giovanni. He looked over at the girl in his bed, smiling to himself. She was honestly the prettiest girl he had ever laid eyes on, especially when she was like this - so natural and not even trying. He always felt privileged when he got to see her like this. She was usually in her makeup and completely dressed up, ready to impress the whole world. Sure, he loved to see her like that too, but there was something about her when she had no makeup on, not making an effort. He didn't know what it was, but it made him feel so happy. Maybe it was the fact she was comfortable enough with Giovanni to let him see her like this. He could see her chest rise and fall as she breathed deeply, the sun that was peeking through his blinds, hitting the blonde highlights of her hair. He completely believed that Jasleen was his soulmate, there were no other words for the love he felt for her. Even if they were going to be friends for the rest of their lives, he didn't mind. As long as he had her, he knew he would live a happy life.
He decided to make her breakfast before she woke up, so he leaned over and kissed her on the cheek, before leaving his bedroom. He made his way to the bathroom, first of all, stepping his almost naked body into his onesie that hung on the back of the door. He and Jas both had matching ones at each others houses, purely for evenings like they had the night before. It was all about comfort with them both. He brushed his teeth in front of the long mirror, then washed his face with the icy cold water running from the tap. He was surprised by his reflection - he was expecting to look completely gross, but he actually looked rather handsome, if you could ignore the slight bags underneath his eyes.
He made his way to the kitchen, thinking of what to cook. He turned the radio on, the music barely audible. He had to have music on, especially if he was by himself. He classed it as a choreographer/dancer thing. It was a habit that could probably never be broken. He knew that Jasleen loved pancakes, so that was the breakfast of choice. It didn't take him all that long in the kitchen, around 15 minutes or so altogether. He didn't know if Jas was still asleep or not, but he knew she wouldn't be mad if he woke her. He placed the food for them both onto a tray, alongside some syrup, Nutella, strawberries in a bowl and some orange juice. He made his way back to his room, pushing the door open with his foot.
"Good morning, Curly Caramel Cupcake." His voice was soft, his accent coming across clear in his sleepy voice, a big smile across his face.
