No, this one was hideous.
No, this one wouldn't match the shoes she was planning on getting.
No, the color patterns on this shirt were horrendous and only a blind or ill informed person would ever dare wear something like this.
No, no, no!
Why in the hell were these clothes so terrible? She knew she should have just stuck to online shopping like she did on a normal, daily basis for the sheer fact that this area of living had terrible shopping centers around. Or, at least, they were generally terribly for her taste. After all, she refused to just settle for anything. That wouldn't be her way! Chardonnay was still a stuck in princess in every way shape and form, even after graduating high school. But she digressed; who would she be if she changed her ways? Not herself, that was for certain, and why should she change? She loved herself, her family loved her, and that was all that really mattered, right? Of course she knew, and had always known, that her personality was not well liked among the general public that surrounded her, however she could care less for their words and sighs when she would speak. As long as they respected her, she would do the same back. Well, no, really that was a lie. Chardonnay still had the habit to mouth off to people just because she didn't like what they wore or just because of the way they smelled or because of the way they looked in general.
What could she say: old habits die hard, or never go away in her instance. Really, the only reason she even decided to come to this store was because of her father, something that still continued to grind her nerves when she thought about it. "You need to support the local businesses in the area! So go to one of the local clothing stores and buy yourself something," the man had spoken to her over the phone as they talked just a few short hours ago.
"But daddy, only middle class people buy clothes from there. I'm not middle class!"
"You go support the local businesses or I'm cutting your funds off, Chardonnay. Really, just give the places a chance; they're not that bad!"
Of course she had agreed to go after that, because why have her funds cut off just because she didn't do something simple like this? All she had to do was buy one thing, and then she could go back to her dorm, get on her computer, and then buy something that was actually worth her money. All because of her dad was the reason she was here. Great.
After shaking her head and putting back another pair of jeans on the rack, Chardonnay rested her hands against her hips as she blew out another sigh. This place was pathetic. She had half a mind to call the owner of this company to complain about their clothing choice and demand that they change something about it, but decided against the notion and merely pushed it aside as she walked more towards the middle of the store where a few more choices of clothes were stationed at. Sales were going on around the store for the beginning of the school year that was coming up, however that was the section of the store that she decided to stay out of because, in her mind, things being put on sale meant that they weren't worth the effort at keeping at their full price, which, in her mind, meant that they were worthless.
Her mind worked in so many different ways.
Something did, however, catch her attention. As she tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear, she walked over to a rack of summer and fall dresses, her eyes blinking as she tilted her head and pulled one out. Well this one actually looked decent enough, cute actually. So maybe this place wasn't so bad, or at least not in their casual dress selection. It was still much lower than anything she would normally buy, and more than likely what ever she bought here she may just leave in the back of the closet so that it wouldn't see the light of day, but if she had to buy something, it might as well look decent. She pulled it off the rack after examining it and held it against herself before she stepped over to the side a bit and looked at herself in the mirror with the dress hanging in front of her, that frown still etched into Chardonnay's expression. Another sight and another shake of her head, she lowered it and rolled her eyes. This may just have to do.
So with that thought in mind she turned and started towards the register, only to stop when she saw and caught the sight of Niko Connor or something, her roommate, she had met, in her dorm for the school year. She had yet to say much to the girl, or even the other two roommates that she had, but regardless she turned her attention away from the girl with a bored expression and continued to make her way towards the register.

With bright eyes and a happy look upon her face, Niko tilted her head this way and that as she looked through the clothes in the women's section of the store. Oh, what a joy it was to be back in this place! Really, she hadn't expected to miss the life of a college student as much as she had while she was away over the summer doing her modeling work for a company that her parents her quickly gotten her into after she graduated high school, but she really had, and the notion had only come apparent to her when she moved her things in to her dorm just the other day. She missed the busy life that came with being in school; she missed going to classes and doing her homework, she missed interacting with all of the people that she saw, and she missed being able to just be away from home. That had been another odd notion to her; the fact that, once she got home, she wanted to leave. Niko didn't want to blame the fact on her parents, because honestly she truly loved those people, but now they were beginning to become... Overbearing to her. Do this Niko, and do that. Even the people she worked with at the company were becoming bothersome to her because they continued to tell her what to and not to do and what to and not to eat.
It made her question what she wanted to do in her life, because while she nearly felt as if she was stuck in the life of being a model because of how she was being pushed to do all of this, maybe there was a chance she could get out of it. She wasn't exactly sure, however it was a thought nonetheless, even if it was terrifying one because what could she do if she didn't become a model? She loved to learn, she loved playing video games and still did it on a daily basis with the great friends she had met online all those years ago and still talked to, but other than that... What could she do?
Pushing the thought aside, however, Niko pulled out a shirt that caught her eye. She knew that she had enough of a wardrobe to keep her well throughout the year without wearing an outfit twice, and she knew that as time went on the company she worked with was only going to give her more clothes to wear around so that she could advertise for them, but it was nice to get clothes for herself. She wasn't normally able to do things like that, and it was nice to have her own money in her pocket, money that she had earned from the modeling gigs that she had done over the summer. And what better way then to spend it on this! Or at least a little bit of it. She had plans on going to the game store that was in the area to pick up a game that she had pre ordered a month ago and to maybe buy another one off of her steam account once she got back home.
"I think this will look nice," she muttered to herself as she looked in the mirror, her eyes catching note of a moving figure behind her as she looked at the reflection. Hey, she looked familiar... Turning her head to look, when Niko realized that it as Chardonnay, and when she saw the girl look in her direction, she smiled gently before letting the smile fall as Chardonnay seemed to have passed her off so easily. Maybe she just didn't see her or recognize her. Or maybe she just didn't care. Niko wasn't exactly sure, but she wasn't about to bother herself with the matter. So instead, she turned back to look at more clothes, decided which she wanted to get and which ones she wanted to put back.
No, this one wouldn't match the shoes she was planning on getting.
