As the smell of the spaghetti sauce wafted up into his nose, Leo couldn't help but smile as he stirred the sauce, a sigh of contentment coming from his mouth. Finally he was making a meal that actually smelled really good! Sure, he wasn't the best cook in the world, but he considered himself at least decent, or at least decent enough to where the food actually came out right and actually tasted pretty good, in his mouth anyway. He hoped Monika liked it anyway; this spaghetti and meatball recipe he decided to use tonight was one that his mother had always used when she made it, and now he actually decided to try his hand at it, since he decided to invite his girlfriend over to have dinner with him. Ahh, he figured it be fine!
He chuckled to himself lightly as he took a step back and looked over at the boiling pot of noodles, thinking that they were cooking very well, and at a decent pace. His eyes traveled to over to the clock, and while he knew that the food wouldn't be ready by the time Monika arrived, he figured that it would just give them time to catch up and talk. That was always a good thing, and it would be a nice way to just relax and enjoy each other's company, because that was the best part about being in a relationship, right? Being able to enjoy one another's company without even having to try? It's how he looked at it anyway.
But as he waited for her to arrive, he went around his apartment, straightening a few things up here and there, making sure that nothing looked messy and making sure that everything was in it's right place. He brushed down his white polo shirt that he wore along with a pair of blue jeans, blinking as he went though a checklist in his mind, making sure that he had everything taken care of. Yup, everything seemed to be right! Once the meal looked like it was just about ready to be done, he would put the garlic bread in the oven since that wouldn't take too long to cook, but he knew he still had time before that.
