“I was right, then!” Chad said with a grin, glad that he had guessed the origin of Chardonnay’s desire to cook. He wondered what restaurant it was that her father ran, he wanted to go there even if Chardonnay wasn’t quite there yet to see what kind of business it was. He assumed it was probably a five star establishment, filled with people almost always, the kind of place that one needed reservations to get into. Her confident spoke enough for that, Chad thought, raising his eyebrows in good humor as he listened to her gloat yet again about his amazing her food was and how he was being shamefully ignorant, saying he wanted to taste it to confirm.
“Oh, don’t worry about whether or not I can afford it. Money’s no object. Since your food is obviously so delicious, your father much own a famous restaurant, right? Which one?”
“Obviously. He needs, like, help. Fashion help.” Shyanne said, frowning after the guy as he left. “Like, if he wants to make an impression, a good one anyway, he should at least dress rich.”
Shyanne was not rich, but she dressed well and clearly spent a lot of money on her clothes, which was good enough for her. It was all about looking good—if you kept it a secret, what was the point!
