He was a bit surprised when a somewhat high voice caught his attention- or he'd call it high, since it was a girl's. Turning towards the owner, he was a bit intimidated- but didn't quite show it. Inside, an alarm rang- but he wasn't the type to ignore someone who needed help, even if they were someone scary to him. No, Sayaku knew better then that. You were always to help someone if they needed help. So, standing from the bench, to look over her as he let his hands rest behind his head. "It'd be rude not to help someone if they're lost...And this campus can definitely get confusing." Laughing a bit, he smiled. "So, of course I'll help."

Seeing as she'd introduced herself, it was also rude not to respond. Letting one of his feet lightly kick at the ground in his sneakers, he tried to keep his grin as friendly and relaxed as possible- which, so far, he was getting better at. Maybe it was because he spent so much time with Chad and Walter, who were both either quite excitable naturally, or very good at faking it. "Sayaku Catane. My guess is you're pretty new? Where're you headed?"

"You're close. I'm a mix. Japanese and Norwegian. Though mom might be a little bit of something else too." Smiling simply, he wasn't overly surprised Japanese came up as the first thought- his name certainly sounded more Japanese than his sister's, despite her being the one to live in Japan much longer than he did. He didn't respond to her note about his looks, but was quickly confused by the iPod. Oh, technology. Would it ever stop taunting him?

"Well...I don't know what this thingy is, but I know where that building is. And I see, a performer huh? I'm a drummer. Who knows, might get to play some music while you're dancing on stage one day." Nonchalantly turning to look towards the direction of the office building, he took a few steps towards it and turned back to look at her. "It's hard to find on your own, so I'll show you the way. I'm a senior this year, but even I still find it hard to maneuver sometimes around here."

"I was born and raised in NOrway," Sayaku replied. "So it's actually my native language. My sister doesn't speak much though." He gave a simple smile, while leaning slightly away from the girl's attempt to lean closer. No, this wasn't good after all. She was a person in need, but she was also a bit more lacking of the idea of personal space than he could handle. Palms slightly sweating from the anxiety (that he wouldn't say a word about), he forced them in his pocket to hide any issues he was feeling.

Her overly confident attitude towards herself wasn't a bad thing though, for the moment. He wasn't sure if she was being a bit too confident for her own good or not, but the confidence did remind him of someone. Who was it...Chad maybe? "Well, I look forward to seeing your work in the future. Now...Let's see...Office building needs a turn...here."

"There's actually a French class here," Sayaku replied upon her notice of interest towards the language. "I just transferred in myself. The teacher is pretty nice, and so far, it's a neat class. I've always liked languages, so this is my fourth learning- though the first one I'm learning solely for fun."

Laughing at her very entertaining energy, he had to count on his fingers to start off with when thinking of drumming. "Let's see...I've done a lot of performances back home, then when I was a little older and moved to live with my uncle, I joined a band and we did at least five or six gigs overall that got pretty crowded...But I haven't done any here yet. I'm looking for a fun band to join, but so far, most of my friends aren't many musicians with links to help me on that. But I can play on my own sometimes, so it's not too bad."

He was pleased to be called cute- well, sort of. Honestly, being called cute made him feel like he was being treated as a puppy (which, at that point, he wasn't fond of- though puppies were fun, he didn't think he wanted to be one). Of course, when he took a moment to realize just what she meant, he realized this was starting to get out of hand. Sure, girls weren't horrible- but he wasn't particularly fond of them either. And for Sayaku, he mostly liked guys- so if she was hitting on him, this would not end well. Sadly, though, Sayaku wasn't much of a liar. "Nope, not dating anyone. But I have a guy I kinda like. Not gonna happen, but I'm content for now without really looking."

"I had to learn the first three. Well, obviously Norwegian is my native language, so that's first. But my sister grew up in Japan with our uncle, so to talk to her, I had to learn Japanese. And then English. So there's three for you. You already know one of them, at least." He laughed a bit as he explained, smiling easily. And when she noted she could see him in a band, he wasn't all that displeased- after all, he'd been in one before. However, her reaction to his note that there was a guy he liked was a bit concerning. She was insisting it was a girl. Had she heard him wrong? Or was she trying to hope she had?

"Uh, the only girl I really like much is my sister or my cousins," He explained. "But my best friend is pretty cool. He has no interest obviously, but...If he did, I'd go for it."

Frowning, he replied, "I like who I like, that's all. And yeah...Likelihood of Chad getting a girlfriend with how he is right now isn't as high as you'd think. Because he mostly just flirts. A lot." He groaned, remembering when he'd been witness to Chad flirting with his own sister- which, albeit, was rather awkward to Sayaku. Luckily, Flutter was an idiot anyway- and he sort of wished it'd worked just because of that. "While I appreciate your praise, though, it's not really all about looks anyway. I mean, even I can admit you're pretty. But it doesn't mean I'd automatically like you that way, right? Love is a bit more complex then that."

"Sorry, but that's where I draw the line." Sayaku mused. "The cute girls are always the dangerous ones. You'd be surprised to know that guys aren't the only violent sex. And personally, I have no interest in girls at this point. I've been attacked by way too many to want to try. And besides...Love isn't about sex. Maybe it's because I grew up in a village where everyone's family to me, but I don't think it has to do with your body parts. It has to do with your heart. And you, miss, need to take a double check on that." Smiling, he walked over friend who was nearby, whispering something to him before dragging him over to the lost girl. "This is Walter. He's really good with directions, so he'll help you from here. This way, no one has to be uncomfortable."

"And this way, unlike him, I can actually handle this. Since Sayaku is getting you lost from what I can tell."

Walter watched her and sighed. "You do realize you're not helping his gynephobia by making fun of him, right? He's dated and been brutally attacked by multiple girls. Would you be comfortable around men if multiple raped you and used you as a punching bag?" It wasn't his place to say, but he was protective since it was Flutter's brother, and Flutter was the one who had saved him when he was in his worst place emotionally. "Instead of judging who he loves now, judge who he's loved before. He's had horrible luck. HE's always tried to make people happy. But he doesn't have to make you happy just to be a good person. You make me want to make you go on your own with how you're acting so immaturely towards someone who wanted to help you honestly."

"For your information, I'm straight. So now you're just judging /me/ based on who /my/ friends are. Just like you think he's judging you because of your sex. But he only does that because you were clearly trying to hit on him, and it scared him. He's scared of you. By the way, go get raped and then tell me how you feel about guys. You'll be a lot more uncomfortable than you think once they've caused you so much bodily harm you ended up in the hospital. And good luck finding your way. Hopefully you don't get attacked by a wild dog while you're on route. There have been sightings lately." Smiling slyly, he walked ahead on his own, in the same direction he'd been leading her anyway. If she followed, good for her. If not, he could only wish her luck. "And by the way. I'm only rude like this to bad people. And to me, that's you, because you don't give him a chance just because your personal opinion and orientation are different. That's called being judgemental too."

"Believe it or not, he was ready to cry. Unlike you, I've known him for a few years now- since his sister is very dear to me. He's always been a very kind fellow. He'd rather kill himself with depression than tell someone they hurt him horribly. Besides...Would it have mattered if he got mad? You'd just berate him further. And you're quite high on your horse yourself for a lady. A lady should be more polite, if you want to be a lady. Perhaps he should have liked you since you're rougher than a man with your words." He wasn't yelling, but he had a strangely evil smile on his face. "Oh, by the way, your words won't hurt me. In fact, they're quite satisfying for me as a masochist. So seeing your anger is quite wonderful for me. So thank you for fulfilling /my/ needs as well. If it weren't for you hurting my friend, I might try to get you to be mine myself."

"Maybe it's not us that are freaks, but you." He mused with a smile. "After all, if we're all freaks, that means being a freak is 'normal'. Though...I prefer to just think of myself as 'unique' and the 'one and only me'. By the way, be careful. You might get in trouble since I have very, veeeery well connected friends and family."

As she turned around to complain of course, he was still smiling slyly. "Don't worry. I won't get aroused because I don't like you. If you were a cuter, less rude girl, I'd be turned on. But personally, I don't like girls who act like spoiled princesses and assume they're the only ones with an opinion that matters in the world."
