SCHOOL
Class
Sophomore at Metric High
Major
Peyton is a music major with a concentration in singing, which is her passion. She is also minoring in theater thanks to the encouragement of her boyfriend.
Grades
A+ student. Peyton strives to be the best academically and is well aware that near perfect grades will also allow her to maintain her scholarship.
Reputation
Mostly known as Corbin's girlfriend although is also close with the popular crowd in general. Not that she cares what anyone thinks of her because that's their problem.
Relationship Status
Happily taken!
Friends
Most of Peyton's friends are in the popular crowd, as they're mostly either theater/dance/music majors or on the football team. Not specifically a 'mean girl' and more of a 'brainiac', Peyton is somewhat of the oddball of the group.
Her closest friend is her boyfriend Corbin DuVaul who she's been with for the last two years. They attended middle school together shortly after they moved and have been going strong since the eighth grade. Peyton is crazy about Corbin, always attending his games even if she doesn't always understand what's happening. She cannot and does not want to picture herself with anyone else.
Enemies
If Peyton has enemies it's anyone who either messes with her friends or thinks they have a chance with Corbin. She may seem nice enough, but you do not want to get on her bad side!

APPEARANCE
Body
Peyton is a little vertically challenged. Fine, a lot vertically challenged. She only stands at 5'1. It doesn't seem like she's going to get any taller but that doesn't really bother her. Although she would like to be a bit more chesty; admittedly she's a little insecure comparing her body to the other girls on campus. Other than that she has a nice figure for someone her age, but could do with a little more muscle. She weights roughly 100 pounds, making it a piece of cake for Corbin to lift her.
Eye Color
Brown
Hair
Naturally curly brown locks. It's also very thick and hard to brush, but it hardly makes a difference when she goes out anywhere; it looks the same all the time anyway. Sometimes for nice events or when she really wants to look nice she will straighten or style her hair. When it's not curly, it's much easier to see how much hair she does have, falling past her shoulders.
Style
Peyton's not much of a casual dresser but she's not exactly preppy or girlie either. She likes to look put together and always wants to come across as a hardworking individual. She doesn't show much skin and isn't much of a makeup person either. However when she's just rehearsing or feels comfortable enough, Peyton is fine wearing a tee and sweats.
Ethnicity
Biracial. Her father is African American and her mother is Caucasian and Italian.

HISTORY
Family
Gale Orion Paulson- Father, Secretary - Peyton is very close with her father. She is a daddy's girl, much like both of her sisters. She finds it very easy to talk to Gale whenever there's something going on in her life. It also helps that Gale has treated Corbin as a member of the family since he and Peyton started going out. He enjoys watching games and talking sports with Corbin, but is much happier that the pair are such a good fit. He could not have been happier that his company relocated from Georgia to California, as it seemed to benefit his entire family. Gale is a very trusting man who instilled a strong work ethic in Peyton. Family has always come first for him and he intends to keep it that way. While he and his wife make very good money, it made him feel much better that Peyton was offered a scholarship at Metric. This not only allowed her the best opportunity possible but also will help Gale and Allisan save for Julian's schooling in the future. He will also not hesitate to brag about any of his kids, even if it is on the verge of embarrassing.
Allisan Roberta Paulson (nee Zanetti) - Mother, Therapist - Peyton has always found it more challenging to communicate with her mother. As a therapist, Allisan has been trained to notice when there is the slightest problem. She tries to keep a close eye on her girls and leave her door open for discussion. Sometimes she can come across as a bit off or maybe even cold, but it's not because she doesn't care. Allisan does not let it show when she thinks someone is doing something wrong or that she's right about something. This is probably the reason why Peyton is naturally a private person; so people like her mother don't find out every little detail. While she is happy that all of her daughters settled into Salem well, she still has her guard up around Corbin. He is the first and only guy Peyton has been with and Allisan believes that they will not end up long term, as there are plenty of fish in the sea. However she will admit that Peyton has chosen a good first boyfriend and that they do appear to really love each other. For now.
Christian Dominique Paulson - Sister, Manager - Christian is ten years older than Peyton and is in the process of saving up for her own place. She is currently engaged and is in the early stages of her first pregnancy. Prior to moving with her family to Salem, Christian was working at JC Penny while attending school. She earned a BA in Business, which helped her earn an Assistant Manager position at Walmart once they moved. She spent the last couple of years working up to a management position. Her fiancé, Barry, met her while they lived in Georgia and is in the process of relocating to Salem, looking for a job and constantly researching apartments. Christian is slightly jealous of Peyton for finding someone so good only in middle school and constantly wishes she found Barry earlier so they could have gotten started together earlier. However, being twenty-five, Christian believes she has a lot of experience and never hesitates to give Peyton advice. Her nickname for her sister is Pey Pey, which Peyton hates.
Julian Annika Paulson - Sister - Julian is nine years old and in fourth grade. She enjoys traditionally female things like tea parties, dress up, makeup and rom coms. She loves Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. Julian has had the hardest time adjusting to her new home, as she has not met people as easily as her sisters. Julian is typically more of a quiet child and has become more accustomed to sitting watching TV alone than going to the park. However she does enjoy playing music with Peyton and is trying to learn piano. She's constantly asking when Peyton and Corbin are going to get married, though does not understand the concept of a baby growing inside of Christian. Go figure.
Backstory
Peyton was born on an oddly warm February morning, even for Georgia. She grew up a few towns over from Atlanta with her mother, father and older sister. Peyton had always been a daddy's girl and was somewhat of a tomboy. She wasn't into sports but she didn't like the girlie things either; nor did she like wearing dresses or going shopping. While her older sister Christian was more focused on the social scene of school, Peyton always focused on her homework. She liked learning new things and was often upset when she got even a B. She learned early on that it would be difficult to talk to her mother, as Allisan had a bit of a tendency to pry into everything her girls did. While Christian tried to cover up whatever her parents might consider wrong, Peyton would give Allisan simple or one word answers. She knew she wasn't doing anything wrong so what was the point of even saying anything? Sometimes Peyton thought Allisan worried about her because she wasn't the most social person and was more focused on school than playing with other kids.
When Peyton was six, Julian was added to the family. She had very similar hair to Peyton's, so Peyton often had to help comb her hair and make it look nice. Peyton stopped caring about how her own hair looked for the most part; when she spent so much time on Julian's hair she didn't have the time, effort or energy to focus on her own. She eventually noticed that there wasn't much of a difference between it being neat or not unless it was straight or styled. She actually didn't like her hair much when she was younger; the more fro-esque style of her hair completely contradicted her then-light skin tone. Some kids were unsure what to even call her because she was technically both black and white. And Allisan wanted to know why Peyton didn't really want to associate with those kids? Funny.
Fortunately for Peyton she always had music. Gale had basic knowledge of how to play the piano, although he couldn't show his daughter much past the scales. They were able to hire an instructor to help Peyton learn to play, but what really got Peyton hooked was the singing. Even if she couldn't catch on to playing the notes right away, she could sing them near on point. She always had a bit of a higher voice, so high octaves were a cinch for her. To this day she still struggles to hit the lower notes. Peyton joined the school's choir, although she never completely cared if she was center stage or not. She just wanted to sing.
Her family stayed in Georgia until Peyton reached the end of seventh grade. The company that Gale worked for was transferring to California, so it was going to be quite a move. Actually, California sounded a lot better for them, as some people in their community were still living in the 50's. Peyton didn't think much of it, as she felt like she wasn't leaving a lot behind. She didn't know what to expect when she started eighth grade in Salem. Fortunately for her, she wasn't the only new student that year. There was another new kid named Corbin. Peyton's first thought about him was, 'wow he's tall!' Then again, since she was always on the short side almost everyone was taller than her. They would sit with each other at lunch and talk about their families or about moving. They were also able to bond over performing, specifically Corbin with dancing and Peyton with singing. She knew she liked him after only about a month, but tried her best to keep to herself and not blow anything. Going to football games was a new experience for her; she never understood sports and Corbin always had to correct her about something. She didn't care much about the game, but she loved watching him play. He seemed like he loved it just as much as dancing. When she found out he was having trouble keeping his grades up to stay on the team, it was only natural that she helped him study. They spent a lot of time at each others' houses and fortunately their families overall seemed very accepting. It was only a matter of time before the two of them started going out. When he asked her out for the first time of course she was going to say yes! Their first official date was the spring formal.
Both Corbin and Peyton applied for Metric to start high school. She knew he was going to get in, no problem. But if they both got in they'd be taking a lot of different classes, so it wouldn't be like seeing each other as much as in middle school. That was probably why Peyton gave in when Corbin suggested she minor in theater. Not that Peyton had a problem with it, but who was she to turn down the prospect of spending more time with her boyfriend? Peyton applied to be a music major and sang two songs for her audition. The first was a slowed down version of FallOut Boy's "Centuries" which, in her opinion, made the song feel a lot darker. The second song was "I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" from High School Musical, which was obviously for her boyfriend. Peyton thought it would make a nice challenge because of the different voices and ranges in the song. She managed to make it her own and, with both songs under her belt plus her grades, she was able to earn a scholarship.
Now one year into Metric, Peyton and her boyfriend have established themselves in the popular crowd due to both of them being theater students and Corbin being a football player. Peyton continues to support him at his games - and still screw up basic football knowledge - and always looks forward to the classes she shares with him. Even if she technically is only popular by association, it doesn't bother Peyton. All that matters to her is that she and Corbin are at the school doing what they love most experiencing it with each other. She wouldn't have it any other way.

Extras
•Peyton is inspired by Taylor from High School Musical. She also shares a birthday with Corbin Bleu.
•She and her sisters have unisex names. Since Allisan grew up with a more feminine name she wanted to feel like she was giving her daughters more of a chance. Companies are more likely to look after masculine-favored names anyway.
•She is currently taking a driver's ed course even if she won't be able to drive for another year.
•Peyton has no known health issues aside from being very slightly anemic. Sometimes when nervous she will also bite her nail, though it takes a lot for that to happen.
•Due to not having many friends growing up, Peyton doesn't always open up easily. But if there's anyone who can ever see through her, it's Corbin.
•Peyton can't swim to save her life. Don't make her go in the ocean. Maybe the pool. Actually, most pools are taller than her so don't push her past the steps.
•She has a collection of scarves, all organized by color, thickness and when she got them.
•While her singing is still a work in progress, Peyton does have a naturally strong voice. She doesn't care if she is a lead in a musical or not, so long as the right person earns it and she just gets to sing.
•Peyton may look pretty harmless, but don't tell her she's wrong, don't look down on her and above all, do not mess with the people she cares about.
