On second thought, she didn't regret having sex with Arthur. Though the thought had circulated through her mind in that one moment when she had been so upset that she had been liable to throw a chair or to try and flip over Lockwood's desk, it was gone now, erased from her mind as if it had never been there. She didn't regret having sex with Arthur now that she knew it wasn't going to have that lasting of an impact on her life. Sure, they'd be getting a lower grade, but at this point Chardonnay was only grateful for that, especially considering what their grade could have been. They could have flunked the class but now they were being given a chance to right their wrongs and prove to Lockwood that they actually did take this class seriously. They'd pass now--because Chardonnay had enough confidence in the both of them to know that they wouldn't screw up a second time--and then everything would be fine. No having to wait an extra semester to graduate. No having to lose her restaurant like she had believed she was going to. Her father wasn't going to take it away from her just because of a slightly lower grade; he'd still be proud of her, ask what happened, but otherwise still be happy since she'd be able to walk across the stage.
God, she never felt so good in her life, aside from when Arthur was able to give her those sensations. Her shoulders were slightly slumped as she continued to sit in the chair, her heart still beat loudly and quickly in her chest, but otherwise she felt good. The relief that filled her lungs and mind was like nothing she had ever felt before, so much so that she almost didn't trust herself to stand. She felt like she could hug one of them. She felt like she should throw her hands up in the air and shout in triumph, to show her excitement for this opportunity, but knowing Lockwood, he wouldn't appreciate the unprofessional-ism. So instead, she had to try and keep down her smile as she finally stood, gave another curt nod to the man, and headed out the door along with Arthur after they were dismissed.
When the door was closed behind them, Chardonnay leaned against the wall at first and pinched the bridge of her nose, expelling a breath that had been trapped in her chest. Her eyes were closed, her hands were still shaking but not as much as they had been. She couldn't believe this was happening. She couldn't believe that they were actually being given another chance. Moving her hand from the bridge of her nose, she ran a hand through her hair and let the other rub her forehead until she let both of her arms drop to her side. Shit. She really did need a drink now, maybe something stronger than just a little bit of wine, too. Though, perhaps she should get through the presentation before she put any amount of alcohol in her system.
Her eyes traveled to Arthur then, watching as his body seemed to linger in the hall. They should probably talk, talk about the presentation, and with that thought in mind she walked over to him and walked along side him with her head held high and with her shoulders back. "I told you that would work," she said, smirking. Right, because she hadn't been afraid at all. No way. If she had been anyone else but herself, she would have rolled her eyes, but seeing as it was herself, she kept her confident attitude up. "There was nothing to ever worry about. Now, we just have to figure out what to do with the presentation. We had something good going the first time, of course, and I'm sure you remember everything that has to be said just as I do, but it probably wouldn't be bad to do another run down on it just in case. We don't need to make any slip ups with this; we can't afford to make any slip ups with this." She took a breath for a moment. "I'm almost afraid to think that he's going to expect us to do something new with the presentation, but I don't think we have enough time to do so, and I don't know if we'd want to risk the quality of the project by trying to add anything."
