Clint shifted in his stance, what could he say? How could he calm this guy down, or deviate his anger from the cashier? His mind worked, brow furrowing as if he was losing patience. He'd have to tell this guy off, that seemed to be the only way around this. He could take whatever the guy could toss at him... right? Clint wasn't so sure. But if he could get away with breaking in to someone's dorm, getting caught, and being able to talk out of it - he could manage this. He sighed, here goes. Stepping from behind the guy and more beside him - Clint let a stern tone gild his voice.
"Look man, the return policy is pretty clear about needing your receipt. If you don't know your kid is going to like a toy, keep the receipt. It's not difficult and it definitely doesn't hold up any lines." The cashier's eyes widened. Though it was pretty obvious the guy didn't care much about wasting anyone's time, Clint gestured to the item. "The thing is damaged anyway, you think returning a damaged product is gonna fly? Maybe that works somewhere else but I think they're pretty smart about what they allow to be refunded. I think you should stop belittling her, besides that. You think that's gonna make her want to help you?"
Wait Clint. Don't get carried away, don't insult the guy. "There are other customers here who need assistance too, you know. She's not going to refund you, so why don't you just take the toy and give it to a kid who may appreciate it instead?" He did everything he could to maintain his dignified posture and steadfast position, he had to make sure that he was at least a little bit intimidating... because if not, he was just initiating an argument and possible fight over a return policy.
