“No problem. I know what it’s like to feel misunderstood,” Mallory replied with a small smile, leaning over the table to give Thomas’ hand a small pat before she drew back. She smiled slightly at his blush before nodding. “Yeah, I think we could give it a try. I haven’t been on a date in a long time…it’ll be nice for a change,” she agreed before the waitress came back and set down their drinks for them before leaving.

Mallory nodded and looked at him from over the table. “Yeah, I do,” she assured him with a small smile. After all, there was only a small amount of people who really understood what her short films and videos were really about. She grabbed her strawberry lemonade and took a sip before carefully setting it back down. “What about this Saturday? We could go to, like, the arcade or something or maybe the amusement park?” she suggested.

“Both? That would be an awful lot to do in one day! What if we go to the amusement park and then dinner afterwards?” Mallory suggested instead. Doing the arcade and amusement park all in one day might be a little too much excitement for her to manage but a nice dinner after sounded nice. She looked over the table and him and nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure it will be an interesting film,” she agreed.

Mallory nodded her head in agreement. She stirred her straw around in her drink, not really sure what they should talk about next. Luckily she did not have to say anything because the waitress soon reappeared with their food. Setting down their meals in front of them, she smiled before looking from Mal to Thomas.

“If you need anything else, just holler,” the waitress stated before walking off.

At the smell of her food, Mal’s mouth began to water. She took a sniff before letting out a content sigh. “It looks delicious,” she commented, squirting some ketchup onto her patty and at the side of her plate for her fries.

Mallory popped one of her fries into her mouth and chewed before smiling with satisfaction. Maybe she was biased since she worked here but they were some of the best fries she’d ever had. The waitress walked off then came back with Thomas’ Italian dressing before disappearing again. “Well, you’ll need to have the script finished first not to mention you’ll have to find actors,” she explained before taking a bite of her patty melt.

“How’s your salad?” Mallory inquired before taking another bite of her patty melt. A little bit of ketchup dripped onto her chin and she quickly wiped it away with a napkin. She nodded silently when he explained he would have the script done soon. It would be interesting to see how it would end since she only had an idea about a little portion of the movie. “You should probably hold auditions for parts after you finish it then,” she suggested, taking a sip of lemonade before she chewed on another fry.
